Chapter 5 - Fluffy Fluff

I woke up in my cell the next morning, cuddling one of the teddy demons.

Y/N: "Sandy? Hmm... when did I go back to my cell?"

The teddy demon woke up and cooed. I smiled and stroked his head.

Big Big: "Princess."

I looked up and saw the dog man glaring at me with quite a stern expression.

Y/N: "Yes?"

Big Big: "What was your reasoning for befriending the sand dragon?"

Y/N: "Sandy? Well, I was bored, and I wanted someone to play with. So I went exploring until I found Sandy. He was scary at first, but when I calmed him down, he was really sweet."

Big Big: "Really? So it wasn't to aid your hero?"

Y/N: "You mean Aiden? Not at all... Why do you ask that?"

He let out a low growl.

Big Big: "No reason..."

Y/N: "By the way, how is Sandy?"

Big Big: "The sand dragon has been sent out to take care of the hero."

I frowned.

Y/N: "Oh... I'll miss him... Anyway, why are you here? Is there something you want or are you just here to interrogate me?"

Big Big: "Your recent escapes are not tolerated!"

He opened my cell and walked in.

Big Big: "I've come to teach you the rules of being a hostage."

Y/N: "I know the rules. We have prisoners at Merrispark, you know."

Big Big: "They why do you think it's okay to break those rules here?!"

Y/N: "Because I'm bored. And I'm lonely. I need fun and entertainment."

Big Big: "Don't you know this isn't a vacation?!"

He let out a frustrated growl.

Big Big: "Now, I know you have keys to your cell. I don't know how you acquired it while in captivity, but hand them over!"

I sighed, stood up and give him the keys.

Y/N: "You're no fun."

Big Big: "How old are you?"

Y/N: "24."

Big Big: "Okay... now, are there any other items you've stolen?"

Y/N: "......No..."

Big Big: "..You're a terrible liar."

Y/N: "Fiiine..."

I lift my sheet up and pull out a basket from under the bed.

Big Big: "Are those healing potions?"

Y/N: "Not... anymore..."

He reached out to take them, but I pulled away.

Y/N: "Uh uh uuh... I want to trade."

Big Big: "What do you mean trade?"

Y/N: "I'll hand over this and everything else I've taken, only if you let me fluff your fur."

Big Big: "Why you little-"

Y/N: "Deal or no deal? Going once..."

Big Big: "Now see here, young lady-"

Y/N: "Going twice..."

Big Big: "You are in no position to-"

Y/N: "Last chance, Big Big..."

Big Big: "Grrrr.... Fine!"

I smile and handed over the basket of empty potion bottles along with everything else I'd stolen from storage. As he stuffed everything into a bag, I stared up at him, a pleading look on my face.

Big Big: "Now what?"

Y/N: "You hold up your end of the deal."

His ears drooped down, and he gave in.

Big Big: "Get it over with..."

I walked up to him and ran my fingers through his fur.

Y/T: 'So soft... so fluffy...'

He was making quiet whimpering sounds, but at the same time, his tail was wagging. I smiled up at him.

Big Big: "Now what?!"

Y/N: "Who's a good boy?"

Big Big: "Grrr... are you done yet?"

Y/N: "Not quite."

I buried my face in his thick fur and smile as it lightly tickled my nose and cheeks. I stayed like that for a solid minute before backing up.

Y/N: "Okay, I'm done. Thanks."

He left my cell without another word. Later...

Big Big: "Curses... how could I let this happen? That was the most embarrassing-"

Demon King: "What's the matter, Big Big?"

He turned and his tail wagged.

Big Big: "Demon King... It's just... I was thinking of cutting my fur. It might help make the princess fear me."

The Demon King's expression changed to outrage.

Big Big: "My liege?...... You don't want me to cut my fur?"

Demon King: "Correct."

Big Big: "Uh... As you wish."
