Chapter 10 - Confession

I barely slept at all last night. I couldn't stop thinking about what Harpy said to me...

Harpy: "Just forget about your arranged marriage and tell the demon king how you feel!"

Y/N: "Do you think he feels the same about me...?"

My teddy demon cooed, and I stroked his head. I got out of bed and marched out of my cell.

Y/T: 'I'm going to do it! I'm going to tell him how I feel!'

I found my way to the demon King's bedroom. This time, I knocked.

Demon King: "Come in."

Y/T: 'He sounds tired.'

I went in to see him sitting on the edge of his bed.

Demon King: "O-oh, princess? What are you doing here?"

Y/N: "Did you not sleep well?"

He shook his head.

Y/N: "Me neither..."

My cheeks go bright red as I walked closer.

Y/N: "I- I have something... I need to tell you..."

Demon King: "Okay..."

I took a deep breath.

Y/N: "Twilight the Demon King... I... I... I like you... As in like like you... a lot... and it doesn't matter if you don't feel the same way about me... I just needed to tell you how I feel..."

His eyes widened and he stood up.

Y/N: "I- I'm sorry... I'll go back to my cell now-"

I turned to leave, but he grabbed my shoulders and spun me back around to face him.

Demon King: "I... feel the same way about you..."

He caressed my cheek.

Y/N: "Demon King-"

He kissed me.

Twilight: "Call me Twilight, princess."

I smiled and pulled him back down.

Big Big: "So it's true."

Cleric: "You two do love each other."

We jumped and pushed each other away.

Twilight: "Big Big!"

Y/N: "Grandpa!"

Y/N & Twilight: "IT'S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!"

Big Big: "You can't lie to us..."

They both walk up to us and smiled.

Cleric: "You have our blessing."

Y/N: "Thanks Grandpa! Thanks Big Big!"

I hugged them both before going back to Twilight. I pulled him down to my level and kissed him.

A couple days later...

Harpy: "PRINCESS!!!"

As I was walking down the hall, Harpy flew into me, knocking me over.

Harpy: "I heard the news!! I'm so proud of you!! I'm so happy for you!!"

I laughed.

Y/N: "Thanks Harpy. But I never would have mustered up the courage to confess if you hadn't given me that pep talk. You're my wing girl. Haha, quite literally."

She got off me and helped me to my feet.

Harpy: "Does this mean... we're gal pals for life?"

I smiled.

Y/N: "I think it does."

She exploded with joy and accidently knocked me over with a hug attack again.

Harpy: "Heh, sorry..."

I laughed.
