Fredca walked out of the cave and sat outside and looked up to see all the stars above her.
I hope you're with me father, just like you promised.
"Good to know I'm not the only one who can't sleep," someone said behind her. Fredca turned to see Rainwhisker.
"Oh, hi, Rainwhisker."
"I don't know how these cats sleep on rock all night," he said as he sat down next to Fredca and looked up at the stars with her. "Though they do have a very pretty view."
He looked at Fredca. "What you said about helping these cats was very noble of you."
"It just felt right," Fredca explained.
"You're father would be proud," Rainwhisker said. Something inside Fredca began bug her, something that she had wanted to say to Rainwhisker for a long time.
"Rainwhisker," Fredca said. "There's something I wanted to ask you for a long time now, and it's about you and my father." Rainwhisker looked surprised. "Why did you always look up to him?"
Rainwhisker thought for a moment. "Well, the thing is, you know that always saw Freddy as like a father to me." Fredca nodded. "Well, I never knew my real father, he died when I was a kit during the battle against Bloodclan. He didn't spend enough time with me and my littermates, but Willowpelt told me that he was kind and loyal to Thunderclan. When Freddy arrived at the clan, I was very curious about since I had never seen anything like him before. But also I knew that despite him being in unfamiliar territory, he looked very confident. When I went up to him he was very kind to me and my littermates. He would play with us and when we became apprentices, he would always watch us train. He was so proud of us when we got our warrior names. It was was like we were his kits. Until you came along." Rainwhisker began to look concerned.
"What's wrong," Fredca asked.
"Fredca, you understand that everyone in the clan loved you," Rainwhisker asked. Fredca nodded. "And your father loved you very, very much. However, he was worried about you."
"Worried about what?"
"Worried that the warriors wouldn't understand you. You may have been born into the clan, but you are an android. So Freddy made sure Firestar picked the right mentor for you, which was Willowpelt. Until she died. I couldn't stand watching Freddy panic over your new mentor so I decided to step in."
"So you did it for him," Fredca asked.
"I did it for you as well," Rainwhisker said. He placed paw on Fredca's paw. "Fredca, I care for you, and I have no doubt you will defeat Shadow Fredca. Just know that no matter what happens, I'll always be by your side."
"Thank you, Rainwhisker, Fredca said. As she stared into his blue eyes, something inside Fredca began to grow. She was beginning to no longer see Rainwhisker as a friend and mentor, but as something else. Eventually she put her lips on his and they began to kiss.
