chapter 5: so this is goodbye

"Hey, y/n are you ok. Your bleeding alot and you were saying some weird stuff in you sleep" Zenitsu asks.

"Yes I'm fine. Where is she?"

"She's still at the tree why?" Tanjiro answers.

"there's something I have to do" You announce.

You stand up. You feel the same energy you felt in your vision. But this time it's stronger than ever. You turn the corner of the maze and into the middle.

"I see your back. Do you remember now?" Akane laughs.

"Yes. Everything" you say. "But there's one thing I don't quite understand."

"And that is?"

"If you were willing to kill me off then. Why do you need me so bad now?"

"Well, I was wrong you see. You can protect us more than I ever could. Together well be the strongest demons alive!"

You stop. And glare at her.

"You've killed people. I'm not helping you, and I'm going to make sure you never hurt anyone ever again"

You start running. Faster and faster towards her. She unleashes dozens of vines, aiming for your skin. You disintegrate each on with ease. But instead of being shocked. Akane is exited. She's prepared for this moment. She unleashes millions of vines. Shooting from every corner of her body. You can't disintegrate them all. You thrust both hands out. Unleashing a large wall if wisteria plants. The vines don't stand a chance. They disintegrate every time they hit the wall. You walk closer. The wall moves with you. Akane shoots more and more, but you can see how drained she is. You get closer until you see Akane fall to her knees. You swipe your hand and the wall falls. Throwing purple petals to the ground.

"Sister... please" Akane pleads. "We're sisters. Don't you love me?"

"I do love you. But I can not go on, watching you kill people by the dozens."

You go up to her and put your hand on her heart.

"Please!"

You shoot out a wisteria plant from your palm. It goes right through Akanes heart. You can see the purple plant sprout through her skin. She stares at you gasping for air. Her face is pale. You watch as she slowly disintegrates into purple petals. One by one prices of her flake off into the petals and float away with the wind. You watch until Akane is nothing more than a cloud of purple.

You turn around and see Tanjiro and Zenitsu behind you. Both standing in shock.

"Hey guys!" You shout. Heading over to them.

"What did you just do!?" Zenitsu asks.

"Well long story short I'm a demon. I think they call me the 'wisteria demon'"

"Did you say wisteria demon?" Tanjiro asks "I thought they didn't exist. Legend says that only one is made every 200 years. And that they have the power to be both human and demon at the same time! And have the power of wisteria plants!"

"Seriously? Well that explains alot" you laugh. "Are you guys ok?"

"Yeah. A little beat up but I think we're all good." Zenitsu smiles.

"Great. Now let's head home. I'm exhausted" You say.

You three walk back to the wisteria house feeling accomplished and proud. You finally know who you are. And your happy knowing.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR LEAVING!!" Zenitsu cries, clutching your leg like a small child.

"I can't stay here. There's more people out there that I can help"

"BUT WHYYYYYYY. I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO SPEND THE REST OF OUR LIVES TOGETHERRRRR"

"Zenitsu, let go of her" Tanjito demands. "Were going to miss you y/n. Feel free to visit anytime you want.

"Sure will. Oh and Tanjiro, can I ask you something over there?" You point to the side of the house were Zenitsu can't see.

"Um... sure!"

You both walk over there. You whisper quietly so Zenitsu won't overhear.

"Hey, so is there something going on? I see the way you act everytime me and Zenitsu hang out"

"Oh, I nothing..."

"You can tell me. We're friends right? I won't be hurt or offended"

"Well ok, I guess seeing you and Zenitsu get so close made me a bit jealous"

"Really?" You ask.

"Yeah. Your really pretty and nice. And I like you. I just feel selfish for feeling like this since you and Zenitsu already have a thing going on"

"Oh that's ok! I love you. And Zenitsu. You both will always be my boys. And I've been thinking and, I need some time to just focus on myself. So dating is kinda out of the question" You reply

"Good for you! I think you deserve that. And thank you. I feel much better. And we love you too. Your like our sister now. Please don't forget to write."

"I won't, Tanjiro. I'm gonna miss you guys."

You and him walk back over to Zenitsu still sobbing on the floor. You lean down.

"Hey, Zenitsu."

"WHAT" He sobs.

"There's one thing I need to give to you before I leave."

"Huh?" He asks.

You bend down and give him a kiss on the cheek. You can see his eyes light up. You give them both a hug and begin your journey.
