it isn't everyday that namjoon wound up babysitting his neighbour's pup at the middle of the night but he found himself lounging on the black haired male's couch as little jungkook slept away peacefully in his room.

it was half past mid night when yoongi had knocked on his front door, begging for the beta to take care of his pup while he drops off hoseok.

namjoon didn't think he would find an omega with his introverted neighbour but as he lets his eyes scan over the brunette, he could see the reason.

hoseok, the omega, looked so soft and kind at first glance. his eyes were somehow calming and he had a very gentle smile on his face when their eyes met.

the beta had smiled back skeptically, throwing a questioning glance at the black haired alpha.

"i'll explain it to you later."

the alpha had mumbled, eager to drive the younger home while he simply nodded his head but namjoon didn't speak to his neighbour up until the next few days, too busy with his work schedule.

they eventually did meet up at yoongi's apartment, with a can of beer on their hands as they lazed on the couch way past jungkook's bedtime.

"don't you think it's time for our little koo to start preschool."

namjoom asks tentatively while eyeing the alpha for any adverse reaction but instead, he was met with silence.

"no."

the reply is immediate and the beta could smell yoongi's sour mood from his pheromones making him let out a sigh.

"alpha, i know you're worried but jungkook needs to start preschool, he needs to socialise and learn a few things about the world outside."

yoongi glares at the beta before chugging down the can of beer.

"there's no need for that, my pup's doing just fine."

"but hyung, what i'm trying to say is—"

"you don't have to say nothing, joon. i said no so can we please drop this topic?"

yoongi was clearly angry, his pheromones a little too strong for a beta to handle making the younger male cower away slightly.

"o-okay. anyway, who was that beautiful omega the other day?"

namjoon swerves the matter at hand before grinning awkwardly at the alpha who smiles at the mental image of the pretty brunette.

"my mom decided to set me up with another omega last week so i decided to give it a chance this time. he's so kind and gentle, even managed to handle one of jungkook's tamper tantrum. impressive, right?"

the beta looks awe-struck for a moment, not believing his eyes when there's a huge gummy smile on the black haired man's face while talking about the omega.

"truly is if he could make you smile like that."

yoongi's eyes widen at the revelation, the smile on his face quickly wiping out as he rolls his eyes.
