NHL story - Unexpected

Chapter 7

-Teresa's POV- 

Couple of days passed by and every day was almost the same. Go to work after work home and movie or spa night with Sebastian and Nat. After the club night and the day after in the car I haven't heard from Mat. But I didn't contact him either so I don't know. Maybe it was one "night" thing and we will not hear from each other ever again. I was kinda sad about this fact but it is what it is. 

I will be here for two months and then I go back to my hometown because of school. I always dreamed about falling in love in this town or at least have summer romance but I guess romantic comedies are lying to us. At least a little. 

"So Tessa. Anthony called me." Natalie said while she was doing her nails. I looked at her and then at Sebastian with confused face. 
"Yeah? How is it going with you two?" I smiled at her. She smirk and then she fall on the bed. 
"I do not know. It is cool and everything but I don't know if it's gonna be something." 
"You definitely talk like a girl who fall in love." Sebastian sipped from his glass of wine after he said it. She just looked at him with furious face. 
"What? It is true." Sebastian continued. 
"I thought you do not like a hockey guys Nat." I laughed.
"I know. But I can not help it. And no I am not in love with him." 
Me and Seb looked at each other and said Mhmm at the same time. 

My phone started to ring so I grabbed it and saw that Jack is calling me. 
"Guys. It is Jack. Hope I am not in trouble." They just sit on the bed and they were ready to listen what Jack has to tell me. 

'Jack? Hi.' 
'Hey Teresa. Do you have time?' 
'Yes. Of course. What do you need?' 
'I need you to come to my office in the restaurant. Right now.' 
'Ohh. Okay. Did something happen?' 
'Come to my office. I expect you like in 30 minutes.' 
He hanged up. 
"Guys I am fu*ked." I said to them with fear. 
"Why? What did he say?" 
"That I need to come to the office right now. I was closing yesterday. What if something bad happened?" 
"It is gonna be fine. Maybe it is just something with your shifts. Don't worry." Sebastian assured me. 
"Are you guys coming with me?" I looked at them. 
"No. But we will wait here. And you can bring more wine on your way back here." Nat laughed and I just burned her with my eyes. 
"Okay. Fine." I put some normal clothes on me and headed to restaurant. 
As soon I came to the restaurant I saw girls smiling at me. 
"Hey Teresa! What are you doing here? You do not have a shift today." Girls said. 
"Yeah, I know. Jack called me he needs to see me in the office." I smiled at them. They just looked at each other. I wanted to ask what is wrong but I left it and went to Jack's office. I knocked and he immediately opened the office door. 

"Hey Teresa. Please, come on in." 
"Hey Jack." I stepped in the office and stood at one place nervous and anxious. 
"Teresa, please sit down." I sat as he said to me and he sat behind the table and started doing paperwork. 
"Okay, Jack. Is something wrong? I suppose you did not call me here just to sit in the office with you withou saying anything." I scratched my arm nervously. He looked at me and then he looked at the papers again withou saying anything." After a while he put the papers on the table. 
"No, Teresa. Nothing is wrong. I called you here because I have some questions for you." 
"Oh, okay. So what is it?" I was slightly annoyed because I thought thi converstaion wil be over like after 5 minutes. 
"How do you like it here?" He smiled at me. 
"You mean like here in New York or work?" 
"You can talk about both." He did not interrupt the eye contact with me. 
"Yeah. It is good. New York is really nice. And here everyone is so nice to me. I can not complain." I lightly smiled at him. 
"Okay.. So, let me ask you this question." He stood up and went to me and sat in front of me at the table. I was just looking at him the whole time. 
"Are you busy this friday?" 
"Well, I mean I do not know yet. But I can take a shift if someone needs a day off." I looked at him and he just chuckled. 
"What?" I was really confused. 
"I am asking because I have two tickets to hockey game this friday. I wanted to ask you if you could join me." He approached to me. I moved farther. 
"Oh.. Well I don't know. What will other say, that we go to hockey together. I mean it can look really weird. You know. Cause you are my boss." He looked slightly annoyed by my answer and I could tell this was not the answer he was expecting. 
"I do this everytime someone new joins our crew. Do not worry about that." He said with poker face which ended by weird smile. 
"Oh, I see. I mean I like hockey, but...-"
"Okay. So we are going. I am gonna pick you up at 7 pm. Be ready." He stood and went back behind his desk. 
"But Jack." 
"No buts Teresa. We are going." He interrupted me again... God he can be so irritating sometimes. 
"Is there something else you want to talk about?" He asked without looking at me. 
"No. You wanted to talk, not me." I stand up and walked away from the office still in kind of a shock. 

'By girls. Easy shift.' I waved at them on my way out. They just waved. 

On my way back to my flat I stopped at the local store for more wine and gin because I needed something stronger that just wine. 

"Hey! I am back." I screamed. 
"Hey.. I will take the wine thank you." Sebastian grabbed te wine and started to pour it. 
"So, what was so important?" Nat looked at me. 
"What happened Tess?" Sebastian looked at me with concerned face. 
"Jack invited me to hockey game this friday." 
"What?! Is he serious?" Nat stormed off. 
"What? He said he is doing it everytime someone new comes to work at his restaurant." I said in confusion. 
"Honey. He is not doing this." Sebastian handed me glass with wine. 
"Crap. I did not want to go. But he was not taking no as an answer." I sit at the bed. 
"It is okay. What can happen? It is just a hockey. He is not going to rape you there with bunch of strange people in one room." Nat laughed. 
"I thought you are pissed that he invited me." I looked at her. 
"Like. Kind of. Because he did not take me anywhere. But we can go to the game too and we can watch the two of you. If you want to." Nat shrugged her shoulders. 
"Babe, did you see gay at the sport event?" Sebastian suddently woke up and decided to join our conversation. 
"I do not know. But I am sure you will do that because of me, right?" I smiled at him. 
"Okay. But just because of you and you have to go out with us again! Saturday it is." He screamed. 

I just laughed it off and then we watched a movie and after midnight Nat a Seb left. I could not fall asleep and I just repeated the conversation with Jack in my head. And finally when I started to falling asleep someone texted me. 'Oh god' I mumbled and I grab the phone. 

'Hey. I was wondering if you and your friends want to come to my hockey game this friday? Matt' - Oh my god. It is Islanders game?! I am not going anywhere. I decided to not reply. But after 10 minutes anther text rang on my phone. 
'Do not know if you are just ignoring me or you gave me wrong number and I am talking to some 50 year old guy. If I am talking to you Tess text me. M' - God same as Jack. 
-'Hey.. Actually I am going to that game. T' 
-'Oh. Okay! But you know you do not have to buy tickets. Next time just text me and I will get you and your friends free tickets to better places. M'
-'Yeah. I'll think about it. Thanks. T' 
-'Night sweetie. Can't wait to see you.' 

Whoa. Just like that he ended it. Or did I? I don't care. Need to think about something so I do not have go or Matt will not see me there with Jack. Or I will not do anything and let it flow. I am sure Mathew will not see me. It will be completely crowded so it is impossible for him to see me. And just like that my mind just could not shut up and my alarm started to buzzing. So sleeples night and day at work with Jack. Great it could not be better. I know I always dreamed of romance in New York but this is not quite what I was hoping for. Maybe I am overracting and nothing will happen.. I have to discuss this with someone else. And someone else I mean Nat and Sebastian so I can not wait for another sleeples night.
