I'm so sorry I couldn't upload sooner. My family and I just got back from vacation and the internet cost was like $20 a day!!! I am so so so so so so so sorry. Forgive me? Please?!?!?!?!?!?1? *Grey's POV*
So I guess there is this "guy code" that you shouldn't call a girl that gave you her number until a couple of days have passed. So I waited....and waited....and waited until the third day came rolling around. Excitedly I plugged the number into the cell and pressed send. On the third ring my some guy with a really high pitched and squeaky voice picks up and speaks.
"Hello?"
Thinking it's her brother or relative I say, "Hi, can you put Malia on the phone?"
"I'm sorry but I don't know anyone by the name Malia."
"Stop playing games and let me talk to her."
"Who is Malia."
"Listen you little pip squeek, put Malia on the phone right NOW." I'm starting to really get pissed now.
"Just who do you think you're talking to?"
"You must be Malia's brother or relative."
"Well I'm not. If you don't want to place an order for Pizza Mania then I suggest you quit trying to prank me and hang up the damn phone. I can press charges for harassment, not to mention.........."
I stopped listening after "Pizza Mania" and realized that she joshed me. No one gets away with this shit. I will be getting my vengeance. Just wait.
*5 hours later* (still Grey's POV)
"Grey are you there?" asked my brother Sam.
"Yeah can I help you with something?"
"Ummm...I went to work this morning and I found this flyer in the front hall."
"Well what does it say?"
"Its this Cupid's Club Speed Dating Spectacular event. It's hosted at mom and dad's restaurant and maybe we should go. Ya know pick up a couple of hot chicks? What do you say?"
Thinking back to the blow to my ego this morning and how it could use a push in the right direction with hesitant I say "Hell yeah. When does it start?"
"In like a half an hour."
"Okay I'll be down in 15."
I'll be waiting down in the car."
"Wait bro, is it casual....formal?
"ummm I'd say formal."
I rush upstairs and change into a black dress pants and shoes, and throw on a white dress shirt with the first two buttons unbuttoned for a sexy "you know you want it" look. Finally I practice a sexy "come and get me" smirk as I walk out the door.
*Malia's POV*
"Hey Lia," shouted Jenelle.
"Yeah Jen"
"I'm just reminding you that you have 30 minutes until we have to leave for the Spectacular we're putting on."
"Jennnnn..... you never told me anything about this "Spectacular" event and what if I had plans?"
"First Lia, school hasn't started so you don't have any home work. Second you've been moping around here all summer I the only times you made a trip outside was it I made you. And third, you complained this morning that you had nothing to do. So your coming. End of story."
"But what if I don't want to go?" I said in a defiant voice.
"I'm running short on a girl and I need you to fill in. Pretty, pretty, please with sugar on top?"
"Fine but next time give me a heads up." Walking away I mumble, "an hour to get ready how perfect!!"
"Ohh and Malia it is formal wear."
Walking into my room I know exactly what I am going to wear. I reach inside and grab my white (fake) alligator print mini dress that hugged me like a glove, a black three-quarter sleeve bolero jacket, and black gladiator sandals. This time for make up I give my blue eyes a smokey look and a clear glassy gloss for my lips. I'm ready to go. I get into my car, seeing that Jenelle must have already left and drive to a restaurant called, "Breeze." Jenelle told me this was like the "it" place to go and people from my future school go there all the time. I hope no one will be there tonight. When I turn in the drive way of the "Breeze", I immediately see a parking space and try to park. Then some idiot driver not caring who or what he might run over sneaked into MY parking space.
"Screw you!!!" I yell not caring that he couldn't hear. When the driver of the other car looked my way and smiled like a cocky player, I could have sworn I saw that face somewhere.
After I find a parking space I walk inside and immediately find Jenelle. She sits me over at one out of the 14 stations at a 2 person table, and blind folds me. Ohh she so owes me!!!
After a couple minutes later I hear her say, "Welcome ladies and gentleman to the first annual Cupid's Club Speed Dating Spectacular," a round of applause soon follows.
"Tonight our ladies of the house are blind folded not knowing whom they are talking to. The gentlemen when told to will race to the lady they seek. Two minutes will be filled by one of you and the next by the other. If at any time you are taken with each other please feel free to leave and carry on with your date." Jenelle said informatively. "Ok let the dating begin!!!!!"
All of a sudden I hear a screech of chairs moving and hear the one across from me being pulled out. Once the guy sat down he began talking. I could just tell this would be a long night. After meeting with, I'd say a little over half of the men, I'm not interested in one mainly because they are older than be or they have a funny voice.
"Hi I'm Larry, I am currently 45 years old and an accountant," he stated with a harsh nasal voice, " I am looking for a mild- mannered companion who could just be you!"
Ok I have had enough of this crap and I am about to burst.
"Ok Larry, I am 17 years old, being a replacement for my sister and I hardly think this is legal and I know I am not the one for you." Harsh I know but I can't stand it any more!!!
The rest of the four minutes were filled with silence. After the bell rang and Larry got up another person sat down.
A deep, rich voice then said, "So we meet again?"
