19. Pilot

*2 hours later*
Wanda and you are walking towards the quinjet.

You: You got everything?

Wanda: Yup. Wait, none of us knows how to operate the quinjet.

You: That's right. I hired someone who knows.

Wanda: Who? When did you have the time to do this?

You: If I am not wrong the pilot is in the quinjet already. Look, it's ready to go.

Both of you walk into the quinjet and see Nat waiting for both of you.

You: There is our pilot.

Wanda: You asked her to come along?

You: No, she decided this without telling me. I only said both of us are going. My girlfriend is clever enough to know that both of us don't know how to fly this thing and clearly offered to help.

Nat: Thank you for hiring me.

You: My pleasure. I hired this pilot for free, so I am not so sure about her skills. I am on a budget.

Wanda: Alright alright, enough. Let's go.

Everyone laughs at your sarcasm...

You: Tony should totally put a bed in the quinjet.

Wanda: Only you sleep that much.

Nat: We are here.

After a long hike, they are finally able to see the base.

You: Here it is.

Nat: It's smaller than I thought.

You: Because of the trees, they can't build it higher. But it can hold way more people than you think.

All of you walk to the door, Wanda uses her powers to yank the door open.

You: *sigh* Let's go.

There were rows and rows of tiny rooms. It was easy to find their meeting room since it is significantly bigger.

You: Oh look, they kindly left some papers behind. Nat can you help to see if there are any things in the computers?

Nat: On it.

Wanda is just looking around while you try to collect all the papers.

Wanda: Y/N.

You: Yes?

Wanda: I think I found something.

Everyone turns arounds and sees that Wanda has uncovered a hidden passage.

Wanda: Should we go in?

You: I can't say no to this. Seems like the electricity still works.

You turn on the lights and everyone walks down the passageway.

Nat: We didn't know that there would be a hidden passage. Is it for every base?

You: I doubt so. They don't stay long in each base.

You end up in a circular room with lots of documents.

You: This can't be real...

Wanda: Look, there's a map showing all the bases.

You: Why would they leave all this here?

Nat: When they were attacked, they didn't have time to take all of this.

You: Milverton would have come back to take it.

James: Precisely, that's why I am here to collect it.

Everyone turns around to see the unfamiliar guy.

You: James?

James: Yours truly.

Wanda uses her powers without telling anyone and sticks him to the wall. The rest of us reacted and started running for the exit.

Nat: Our jet is quite a distance away!

You: Just hold onto me, I can ride the waves.

Wanda and Nat grab onto both sides of you. You start forming waves under your feet and grab a wooden plank lying around and start making your way to the jet.

Nat: I didn't know you could do this!!!

You: There wasn't a need to!!!

James' people are still shooting at you. You try to weave in and out of trees to make it more difficult for them to hit their target. When you have reached far enough, they stop chasing you and retreat.

You: Whew. Here's our jet.

Wanda: We better get back.

Nat: There's a lot to look at when we get back.

You: Yeah. Time to install a bed.

Wanda and Nat: Y/N!

You: What?
