Miraculous: Tales of Redbug & Kuro Neko

Miraculous..? Kwamis..? I'M A HERO!?!?

"What's this doing here?", Luka asked nobody in particular, as he picked up the hexagonal box that was on his bed. Maybe it was something that his mum had bought him?

He opened the box to be immediately blinded by a bright pink light. He dropped the box on his bed and covered his face from that mysterious bright light using his hands.

He kept his eyes covered to protect himself from whatever that was but then he heard giggling, kind of similar to that of a 5 year old girl?

"Don't be afraid Luka", the voice said, "I am not going to hurt you."

Wait.

How did it know his name?

Luka peeked from between his fingers and saw something... small and... red... and was it floating? He fully uncovered his eyes, but still kept his guard up, just in case that thing attacks him.

Floating in front of him stood a creature that was around 10cm tall, not bigger than his hand. It was a reddish-pink colour with a huge black dot on its forehead and smaller ones on the back and each side of its head. This thing had a large head, a teeny bit smaller than the rest of its body. It had huge, dark blue eyes, two reddish-pink antennae and a short reddish-pink tail with the three tips aligned vertically.

It looked cute and innocent, looking at him with those huge, blue eyes and a smile on its face, but still, he couldn't be too sure that it wasn't going to hurt him.

"Uh, hello?", Luka said after a while of inspecting the thing. The thing giggled again and said another hello. "What are you, and how do you know my name?", he asked. He had never seen a thing like that that stood before his eyes.

"I am a kwami", the thing, no, kwami (whatever that was) replied, "and my name is Tikki. Now let me explain everything to you." He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but Tikki said that she would explain everything so hopefully things will make some more sense.

"Ok, ok, so let me begin!", she said excitedly, clapping her little red arms. "Now, this might come out as a big shock,", she started. He wasn't sure how shocking the thing that Tikki will say would be.

What is more shocking than finding out that your father is also your idol? That your father which you had never known anything about before is THE Jagged Stone?

"but you, Luka Couffaine, were chosen to be a superhero."

wHAT

Well, nothing but THAT.

But how?

When?

Why?

Out of all the people in the world, he was chosen to be a superhero.

He wasn't sure how to feel. Of course, he felt surprised, and a bit excited, but he also knew about the huge responsibilities that superheroes had (from the countless superhero movies he had watched with his mum). Will he manage to save the day? Or will he be one big failure?

He shook his head and thought about something that his mum had told him; to live in the present and not worry too much about the future. And that's what he was going to do right now.

Tikki was still looking at him while he was processing all that and after a while she said, gently, "Is everything alright Luka?" He snapped out of his thoughts, looked at her and nodded. She smiled warmly in return.

"Wait...", Luka started, "how was I chosen to be a hero? I'm just a normal boy, I didn't do anything special that I can think of recently."

"You were chosen by someone very special, and he chose you because of your kind actions and personality. You are a perfect fit for the ladybug miraculous.", Tikki said, flying around in the same spot, always smiling.
