Gather forth the White Oil, the Black Cup, and the Blood of Ten Sinners.

Prepare for the Ritual of Liberation.”

In one hand he held the dagger, the Great Knife which would grant him Paradise, soon. In the other, he held a living, beating heart. It still felt warm and sticky, the pulse slow and meaningful. The first victim of the Sacred Hearts lay before him, head blown off and chest roughly held together by stitches.

First man, first victim, first of the froth to die for the sake of Mother. She wanted more to die - nay, needed more to die. They all had to die for Her sake.

He knelt down and set the heart in a paper bag, tucking the Great Knife below his armpit. Walter took his time to wrap the bag properly.

When that was done, he returned the knife to its holster and walked away with the bag in hand, embraced by Her servant.

This man was one of many.
