Vega looked around the very unique room she was in. There were many little gadgets that she had never seen before and there were portraits on every inch of the walls. Some she recognized to be former headmasters, which she knew by the few chocolate frog cards she had. Then, behind a large desk placed on a platform just an inch higher than where Vega stood, sat a tall man in a light purple cloak. He had a long, white beard that sat in his lap, and half-moon spectacles from which his sparkling, blue eyes glared back at the hazel ones. Vega felt slightly calmer when she looked into them.

"Hello, Remus. Nice to finally see you after so many years!" The man cheered, changing his line of sight to Remus.

"Likewise, Professor." Remus turned to his right,"This is Vega, my daughter."

"Ah, yes. What a fine, young lady. I am Professor Albus Dumbledore, headmaster here at Hogwarts." Dumbledore held out a hand.

"Nice to meet you." Vega gulped, shaking it.

"I believe you have something on your face." He pointed to a spot on Vega’s nose, "I presume it is paint seeing as Remus has told me of your liking to art."

"Oh, thank you sir." Vega wiped off the paint. She stared at her father with a quizzical look. Why had he told Dumbledore about her love of art? Remus had never seemed to care before, and it didn't seem very relevant to the situation.

But, Remus didn't seem to notice, "Thank you for allowing Vega to stay here, Professor. I hope she behaves well for you."

"You're quite welcome, Remus. I think it'll do us teachers some good to have a young soul roaming our corridors. I don't think Vega will be of any trouble whatsoever." Dumbeldore looked at Vega.

She felt she was obligated to reply, "Of course not, sir." When she did so, Vega could have sworn the old wizard winked at her.

"I should be leaving then. You can write to me anytime you wish, Vega." Remus spoke, patting Vega on the back.

He started walking towards the door, back against Vega. She was so confused and had so many questions. She just wanted her father to understand that even if he did take her for granted, Vega still wanted to be with him. She would rather move around every day than leave his side, but she knew it was too late for that. She decided to make one last attempt at letting Remus know how she felt.

"Wait!" Vega yelled. Remus turned around, "I love you, Dad."

Remus stared at his daughter, he didn't seem mad, nor did he seem disappointed. He knew this might be the last time he would see his daughter for a while, but he couldn't bear to say goodbye. He turned around, and just like that, he was gone.

"Come, Vega. I have much to show you. A few of the teachers are waiting in the Great Hall to make your acquaintance. It would be best not to keep them waiting." Dumbledore stood and placed his hand lightly on Vega’s shoulder.

She looked up at the bright blue eyes and started walking the same path Remus did, except she wouldn't be leaving. She would be creating an entirely new life with people she barely knew.

Vega and Dumbledore headed down the moving staircases, full of portraits waving hello, and walked through a large hallway to the Great Hall. Vega could just imagine all the bustling of students during the school year. She was glad she got to see the beauty of Hogwarts without all the distractions. They got to the large, oak doors that opened into a wide hall with four long tables. The ceiling looked just like the bright sky outside. Of course, Vega knew it was enchanted to look like the sky outside; the only book Remus ever bought for her was Hogwarts: A history, and she treasured every page of it. Vega looked in front of her, where a few of the professors were standing before a slightly smaller table and a podium with a metallic owl attached that seemed to be sleeping.
