Chapter 3 The Hidden Truth

Once we arrive back home Kallen and Tres brought the little girl to Kallen's room where she had some akuma prepared the bath for her. "I noticed you have gunshots in your clothing usually you would be dead from the number of bullets. Yet here you are still alive, and I'm glad you are. Tell me do you have a name?" Kallen said as she led the girl to her room. "No I don't I never knew my parents and I grew up in the streets so I don't know who or what I am," the little girl said as she looked sad to her. "Then I shall name you Euphemia and you won't have to worry about anything else you'll live here with me. After all I lost my family some time ago and I tend to get lonely here sometimes," Kallen said to her as she open the room with the bath. She was about to remove her clothes before she stopped her, "promise me you won't hurt or freak out if I tell you my most important secret to you," she said in a little panic of her. "Trust me when I say I seen worst things then anyone has ever seen but alright I promise," she said as she put her pinky and entwined with her pinky. She removed her rag she had tied on her head and saw cat ears coming out and saw a tail out too. She was shocked that she felt like she could faint but luckily she knew was just frozen a bit. "Okay...um... That's new for me are you supposed to be a cat? Or this what you were being chased that they thought you were a demon?" She said as she removed the rest of the clothes off. "I don't know for sure but I had to hide my ears and tail because they tried to kill me so many times. I'm surprised you didn't panic or faint when I showed you," Euphemia said to her. "Well I did say I have seen worst but to me you look adorable Euphy so don't worry and let's get you all cleaned up before dinner okay," Kallen said to her as she petted her head and she purred.

It's been a few weeks since Kallen and Euphemia started living together every now and then Kallen did her job as the Earl's daughter but had time to play with Euphy. Tres kept Euphy busy most of the time and so did Lero, but while she was at work for her customers with her best friend Haiji she tried to remember where she has heard those exorcists. Haiji came by her side after getting some sweets like his best friend Skin did when he was alive. He had ash brown hair and hazel eyes and wore a long trench coat and black pants with a white shirt and a matching hat and black boots. "I see a sad man at 3'o clock," Haiji said as he began to eat some lollipops she saw the man as she began to work.

llen and Kanda have been assigned to go get some things for Komui stupid robot but unfortunately Lenalee, Kai, Lavi and his girlfriend Kikyo came along too. "So why did you drag me out here Lavi you know I prefer being in the study finishing up my work," Kikyo said she had grey eyes and blue hair and wearing her uniform. "Ok come on we have been stuck in their ever since I got back from the last mission consider it a date for us and they just happen to be here," Lavi said as he put an arm around her. Kai however was looking around for anything suspicious and caught the same girl from a few weeks ago going into an alley. Kanda looked at the direction he looked and so did Allen and they were both surprise to see her again. "Hey isn't that the same girl we saw last time?" Lenalee asked them and they nodded to confirm it. Later a man with another man behind him followed her and suspicious grew quickly. "Allen you, Kikyo, and Kanda go take a look while me, Lavi, and Lenalee look from above." Kai said he gave them his plan, "right," they spilt up into two groups.

Kallen was wearing almost the same things only difference was the color shirt was green, "hello I heard you lost a loved one," she said to the man. "I lost my son can you really bring him back young lady?" "Yes I was given this gift to return loved ones back to where they belong. I shall grant you your wish," she snap her fingers and summon the metallic skeleton. "All it needs is your son name and he will come back to you," she said as he got closer to it. "Edward!!" The name was engraved to the skeleton, "take his body and make it yours," she ordered it and it complied to her.

Allen and kanda saw the whole thing and knew something was wrong she looked at the dead man body and saw no emotion to it. They knew now that she had a connection with the Earl after what happen but try to leave when the turn around they saw Kikyo behind them. "That girl she looks familiar but I don't know where," she whispered to them as they observe for where they were hiding. "Make sure to report back and take care of those exorcists behind there and don't die on the process," the girl said as she began to walk away from the akuma. "Yes my lady," it bowed to her as a royal. Just as she was about to leave Lavi attacked her but she dodged it in time, "hold it right there little girl don't think I'm not going to let you get away! Start talking who are you and why are the akuma obeying you!?"

"If you must know I'm the Millenium Earl daughter, and my name is Kallen Millenium but it was Kallen Evans before the Earl adopted me," she responded to his question and that's when it hit Kikyo and Kai.

"Kallen is that really you I thought you were dead," Kikyo said in surprised that she's been alive all this time. Kai looked at her curious about what she meant, "wait what do you mean she's supposed to be dead?" "My mother told me about their graves but couldn't find her so they thought she was killed somewhere else." As Kikyo explained to Kai what she knew Kallen took the chance to escape fast. "Haiji lets get out of here!" The man called Haiji carried her bridal style and jumped up high on top of buildings to escape. "Damn it they're escaping but not for long," Lavi said as he was about to creat the flame stamp he felt pain on his lag like electricity was running through him.

"Lavi are you okay," Kai said to his friend.

"Yeah I'm fine just a bit of pain can't hurt me," he tried to get up but the pain got stronger the akuma left before they got the chance to kill it.

"Damn it it got away from us," Kanda said as he looked around for it but no luck.

"Let's get Lavi back to treat his leg," Allen said as he and Kai got a hold of his arms.

"Kai I thought you knew about her death so I never bothered to ask I'm sorry," Kikyo said as she walked beside him.

"It's alright I was never there for Kallen no wonder she had little reaction to us she probably forgot us. I was a useless brother in the end I didn't even get the chance to greet her properly," Kai said as though of his long lost sister was still alive and fighting only she was fighting on the wrong side.

"Welcome back big sister how was your trip in town?" Euphy asked as Kallen and Haiji got back from their day in town. "Eh same old thing nothing new or exciting," Kallen said as she sat and laid down on the floor. "Come on big sister did you find anything interesting in town like a boy or something" Euphy kept asking but she didn't say much. "Nah just the same old thing no one in particular to at all," she said as closed her eyes but kept thinking about something the blue haired girl said, 'my parents are dead and my twin abandoned me for a better life I will not allow this,' she was so deep in thought she never realized Euphy was playing with her hair. She smiled as Euphy knew how her sister gets tired easily now, "Euphy lets play tomorrow and I won't leave for the whole day okay," she told her and she smiled like there was no tomorrow, "Really?! Thank you big sister," Euphy hugged her with all the force she had which was just like her. Kallen was glad to have someone by her side even now when she knows she's will die in this lifetime of hers but spends it happily with her family.
