We arrive at a large wall. It's made up of metal scraps and it's about 15-20 yards tall depending on where you're standing. It seemed to make a circle around the center of the city. In the last few years, Ottawa had a major population boom, resulting in it becoming one of the largest cities in the world. Its population before the zombie outbreak almost hit eleven million at one point. There are now around three-hundred skyscrapers in the city.

We found a baseball field and we started moving towards the entrance. We get to the entrance and there is a large garage-style door. We find a door buzzer installed next to the door. I press the large red button.
"What's your business here?"
I respond, "Uh, we're travelers."
"Oh? From where?"
"Well, most of us are from this small town in Iowa but I'm not sure about those two, though we got her a few miles outside of Chicago and we found her in Chicago."
Kireina pipes up, "I'm actually from-"
"Doesn't matter, as long as you're not from Detroit you're fine."
Kireina scoffs.
I say, "What? What's wrong with Detroit?"
"They attacked a group of our traders coming from Seattle. Apparently there were a few scuffles going on over there. A pregnant lady got killed or something. But they still were giving us good supplies. We lost a whole three months of goods from one attack."
"Well, can we come in?" I ask impatiently.
"Oh yeah, you guys are good. Come in."

Once we got inside, we were greeted by rows of homes made up of scrap sheets of metal. But more importantly, they're permanent. We find a market. After buying some more ammo, we decide to see if they have a hotel or anything. We decide to go back to the entrance to find a map.

Before we can ask anyone where to find a map, a loud alarm starts blaring over the city. Through the alarms, a voice comes through the speakers.
"ZOMBIE HOARD APPROACHING. NO PERSONS WILL LEAVE THE CITY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE." A few seconds later I hear, "RATATATATATATATA" - the sounds of automatic guns. I can't tell their exact location but they're coming from above us. Over the rest of the guns I hear one go, "BRRRRRRRRRRRRR".
"Damn, they got a fucking minigun up there?!" I yell. And yeah, that's kind of badass. Most of us are visibly nervous by the loud gunshots and the alarm. We decide that we should keep looking for the map.

After looking at the makeshift map we find the hotel. It's all the way in the back and it has about 4 rooms with 7 beds in total. 3 rooms with two beds and 1 with a single bed.
"I want the room with Will!" Estella and Kireina both exclaim at the same time. I still don't know what to do. They're about to kill each other soon if I don't do anything.
"Nah I'mma take the room with a single bed. And I'm going to be on my own." Both shrink in disappointment.

Taeh and Ace sleep in the same room but neither asks if they want to share a bed because they're both too awkward to admit their feelings. They've been like this for the entire pandemic, I swear.

After we get all the rooms bought for the night, I enter my room, get on the mattress, and soon I'm asleep.

I wake up to find my backpack gone. Everyone else's shit is gone too. Luckily we always have at least a pistol on us at all times. Even when sleeping. They didn't even think to check us. Though this may be tough with only 8 rounds in my gun.

We storm over to the front counter pissed.
"What the fuck did you do to our shit?!" Ace screams with rage.
"We didn't do anything. We saw nothing."
"Let's see what's in the back then!"
"Absolutely not! That's confidential!"
"Oh? It is?!" Ace yells as she pulls her pistol out at the man. He backs up and slowly opens the door. Ace is about to climb over the counter when he jumps behind the door and presses a button hidden from out sight. Immediately the same alarm is blasted around the camp. A metal wall falls down on the counter and makes it impossible to chase the man.
"MOTHERFUCKER!" Ace screams with more rage than ever before. Even I'm a little scared of her right now and I'm on her side. She starts running toward the back to see if there's another way in that direction.

We get to the back to find the door, but it was locked with a heavy padlock. Ace picks up a large rock about the size of a basketball and throws it at the door of the building. It leaves a large dent but doesn't break through.

I shoot at the door lock and it busts open after a few shots. I lead the way in and sweep with room with the barrel of my gun.
"Fuck it's dark in here" I can barely see anything.

We hear a scream and I turn and see the hotel manager with a gun to Taeh's head. Ace's hand is on the grip of her pistol at her side.
"Oh a little bit of a Mexican standoff huh?" This complete dumbass says while not even noticing me. I subtly point the end of my barrel at his head. I squeeze.

BANG!

The man falls to the floor with a thud.
"Motherfucker..." Taeh says while trying to catch her breath.

The floor slowly gets coated with red as the blood from his head oozes out of the two holes in his head.

The stuff isn't here.

"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Ace screams, "WHERE THR FUCK IS IT?" Why is she so mad? I'm pissed too, but this is a little extreme.
