"Mr.Siruis, take a seat in one of those chairs please."
Atticus nervously looked around the room before sitting down. He sighed, looking up from the table and towards the man that sat infront of him. Atticus was currently being questioned for the death of Katherine Brown, who was atticus's mentor at the time. Ever since the war between angels and humans had ended and the angels were each given halos, which were artificial souls that gave angels energy and would float around their heads, angels have been given mentors. These mentors were human, teaching the angels of human life and educating them of what's going to come. Katherine Brown was just 23 when she died, giving birth to her new daughter who was.. a nephilim.
The man would set a few papers down on the table, drinking out of his cup as he faced the angel.
"It's very nice to meet you Atticus.." He said in a monotone voice, "I wanted to question you of something. It may be a soft spot but we're trying to get answers here."
Atticus cleared his throat, "Alright..."
"Are you aware that.. Katherine brown gave birth to a nephilim two days ago?"
"Yes sir." Atticus answered, guiltily.
The man checked something on one of the papers, looking back up at the angel.
"Have you seen Katherine Brown being with any other angel? Has she had an affair with one? Are you familiar on who could possibly be the father?" The detective spoke, already knowing the answer to the question.
Atticus's ears lowered,"No sir.."
"Are you sure, Mr.Siriuis?"
"..I'm sure.."
The detective took out a printed paper from one of the envelopes.
"Well, Mr.Siruis... results came in this morning. You and the child are both related.."
Atticus's heart sank as he sat nervously on the seat. He didn't know what to do.. or what he should do. The room was just silent.
"Are you any aware of that, Mr.Siruis?"
"Yes sir." Atticus answered quickly, "I-I am."
"Hm, well then.." He wrote on the clipboard, "Thank you for being truthful, Mr.Siruis."
Atticus tried his best to calm down in a situation like this. He could feel his heart pounding, thinking about all of what he had done. A child? HIS child? He had feared responsibility since the day Malak mentioned it... now it came back to haunt him 10 times worse. He felt as if he should run or hide.. but his consequences had caught up to him in the raise. Now, Atticus had a child of his own that he didn't even want.
Atticus knew the incoming cost for an angel and a human to make a child here in Rosa. It was strictly forbidden, mostly because of the simple fact that something like death would come eventually to the mother. Of course, atticus's new child was the first nephilim to ever be recorded... but he had heard the awful things the town people had said. They murmured to eachother on how the death of Katherine was a "curse" for conceiving the "antichrist." He heard many names that the town's people called his family. Atticus wasn't only here for having a nephilim as his new daughter, but he was here.. for something much worse.
The detective put one newspaper on the table. Just one single newspaper...
"Now, Mr.Siruis.. as how much you've been so truthful sitting in here today, I want you continue that when I ask you this question."
