It had been 2 months since Haseena joined MPT. Karishma was always there with her in time of need. Haseena had somewhere started to trust Karishma but her past was not letting her trust her completely.
In these 2 months, Karishma used to call Haseena for lunch daily but she used to deny it every day, and the same scene used to repeat daily where the first morsel of Karishma's lunch was fed by Haseena and vice versa. By the end of 2 months, this had become their routine.
One day Haseena entered the thana to find everyone busy....ofcourse bakaithi
"Jai Hind" she said loudly grabbing everyone's attention.
"Jai Hind MS" they saluted back
"Pj Karishma Singh nahi ayi aaj?" Haseena asked looking around
"nahi...unka tabyat thodi teekh nahi thi toh hamne kaha rest karne ke liye"
"kya hua unhe? zyada pareshani wali baat toh nahi hai na" Haseena asked being concerned.
"nahi MS....thodi si sar dard thi bas"
"ok...sab kaam keejiye
Haseena went to her cabin and started working but her mind was somewhere else. She was concerned about Karishma. She wanted to call her but as usual, her brain did not allow her.
Just then Karishma called her and she picked up the call in just one ring
"hello Karishma Singh aap teekh toh hai....aapne dawai li...doctor ke paas gayi aap....ab aapko kaisa lagg raha hai" Haseena showered her with a lot of questions
"MS shaant.....kitne saare sawal poochti hai aap? ham bilkul teekh hai aur hamne dawai bhi li....ham toh bas aapko yeh poochne ke lye phone kiya tha ki aap hamko yaad karr rahe the kya?woh hamko hichki aa rahi thi...aur maa kehti hai ki agar aise hichki aye toh koi khaas hame yaad karr raha hota hai"
HM- aisi koi baat nahi hai...hichki dehydration ki wajah se hoti hai...thoda sa paani pi lo...teekh ho jayegi
"iska matlab aap hamko yaad nahi karr rahi thi?" karishma asked being sad.
"nahi aisi baat nahi hai"
"matlab aap hamko sach mei yaad kar rahi thi" excited
"hame bohot kaam hai ham aapko baadme call karte hai" Haseena disconnected the call.
It was lunchtime. Everyone gathered together to have lunch. Haseena was hungry but she was missing Karishma and she never ate lunch without Karishma feeding her the first morsel.
Karishma's condition was not different. Haseena after a long fight between her heart and brain decided to visit Karishma defeating her brain. As Haseena was about to leave the station Karishma entered her cabin from the main door.
"hamko/hame bhook lagi hai" they both said together.
"khana kyu nahi khaya aapne?" Karishma asked"
"woh...woh...ham...aap....aapne kyu nahi khaya?" Haseena questioned back
"woh hamko aapki aadat ho gayi hai....jab tak aap pehla nivala nahi khilate hamara khana hajam nahi hota" Karishma said cutely😚
"aap khana laayi ho saath mei?"
"ji...abhi lekar ayi" Karishma ran outside to bring her tiffin
Karishma brought the tiffin and both had their lunch.
"ab aap ghar jaa kar aaram kijiye...aur kal ekdum sehatmand hokar wapas aana"
"ham toh chale jayenge....lekin hamara medicine toh yaha pe hai na" KS said
"kaha hai....pj ke paas? ham abhi laate hai" HM said and turned to go
"are nahi...aapke paas hai"
"hamare paas?🤔" Haseena asked being confused "kaha?"
"aapki smile😊"
"hamari smile aapki medicine hai?"
"ji...hamne toh pehle din hi kaha tha ki aap smile karte hue bohot cute lagti ho"
"aap bhi na bohot bade dramebaaz ho" Haseena smiled😊
Karishma turned to leave but she stopped at the door and turned "kya aap abhi bhi hamko apna dost nahi maanti?"
Haseena's expression changed "Karisma Singh....woh...ham...woh....dost...."
"its ok MS....ham samaj sakte hai...aapki past aapko aaj bhi kisi pe trust karne nahi de rahi na....koi baat nahi....ham aapse ek wada karte hai....jo kuch bhi aapke past mei hua ham woh badal toh nahi sakte lekin promise karte hai ki woh sab kabhi aapke saath repeat nahi hoga...aur agar aap chaho toh aapki iss dard se bahar aane me ham aapki help karenge"
Haseena just smiled and nodded.
"ek aur baat yaad rakhiyega MS....aaj ke baad aapko koi pareshani nahi hogi...koi takleef nahi hogi....aapki aakho mei aasu bhi nahi hogi....har dard, muskhil, har takleef ko hamse hokar gujarna padega...ham kabhi aapko akela chodke nahi jayenge"
"Karishma Singh kisi aur ne bhi hamse aise hi wada kiya tha...lekin usi ne hame aaj itna toda hai" and a tear 😔dropped down her cheek and was about to fall when Karishma held it in her palms.
"aise insaan ke liye aasu nahi bahate....yeh aasu bohot keemti hai...don't waste it" KS wiped her tears "ab ham chalte hai....warna ma dekh legi toh bawal kar degi"
"maa dekh legi nahi....ma ne dekh liya" PJ said coming inside followed by Cheetosh and billu
HM- aap sab hamare cabin ke bahar kya karr rahe the?
SS- aap dono ki baate sunn rahe the
HM- wow...so honest
SS- thank you😎
"Karishma tum yaha kya karr rahi ho?" PJ asked sternly
"woh....woh....ham ek...file dene aye the?" Karishma fumbled.
SS- aap aajkal files tiffin mei laati ho?🤔
Just then the DSP enters "hasshhh bach gaye" Karishma sighed
The DSP collects the weekly reports and leaves and Karishma also leaves.
After everyone left Haseena sat on her chair and was drowned in her thoughts.
"kya sach mei Karishma Singh baakiyo ki tarah nahi hai? kya woh sach mei hamari care karti hai? unki aakho mei toh hamne sacchayi dekhi thi....shayd hame dosti ko ek akhri mauka dena chahiye....agar yeh bhi hame chodke gayi toh?....nahi ham kuch zyada hi soch rahe hai.
Finally Haseena's heart won the battle with her brain.
