And Now a Plan

It was purely physical. Xander didn't say sweet nothings or give a false pretense of feelings before during or after. In fact not much was said unless it was to stroke his ego in the act. Katie couldn't deny it, he was by far the best lay she'd had. Not that she had much to compare too. He didn't say anything afterwards, at least not immediately. Basically he finished, got off her and started getting dressed. She didn't want him opening the door with her still naked in her boyfriend's bed so she started to get dressed as well. He looked over at her as she scrambled to wrestle her jeans back up. "In a hurry?" He asked smirking. She gave him a disgusted look and continued to put on her clothes.

He came up behind her as she was pulling her shirt on and lightly touched the skin on her back. "I dated this girl once that let me put cigarette out on her back, right here." He said running a finger across the skin above her jeans. Pulling her shirt down she spun glaring at him. "I'm not into pain Xander. Last time." He smiled, "What if it was quid pro quo? I was right wasn't I? About you thinking about hurting me? What would you do to me, if I gave you permission to do whatever you wanted?" A strange sensation took over Katie but only for a moment. Her thrills didn't lie in the act of causing pain as much as the actual moment of death. There wasn't anything that he could trade that would classify as a quid pro quo, but yet again this could be her in.

"What would you want to do?" She asked eyes wide. He smiled running his hands down her arms, "Start off easy, no breaking of the skin the first time." "Like Jaylah?" She sounded cynical. His face lit up, "Jay wanted to go in head first up to her eyeballs. Desperate chicks always think they can handle anything." The way he talked about it gave her the creeps, and she was a serial killer! There was a knock on the door. "Yeah?" Xander called. "Shit's on the news again." Someone called from behind the door.

The news report was a dire one. They had found Jaylah's dismembered body less than two miles from the O'Keefe street house. Katie watched and listened in horror to the report. Several of the guys kept glancing over at her with sorrow. They felt for the poor girl. Xander's hand planted firmly on her shoulder. "I'll take you home now." He whispered in her ear.

The thought of being alone with Xander all the way home gave Katie the creeps, him knowing exactly where she lived troubled her as well. Five minutes on the highway and Xander started in. "What are you thinking about my offer?" He asked. "Who goes first?" She asked looking out the window. "Me." Xander stated plainly. She turned furrowing her face, "Why?" "Did I hurt you in any way back at the house?" He asked matter-of-factly, it was more rhetorical. "That was all for you." He chimed. She looked back out of the window, "What are you going to do?" "It's a surprise." "I don't like surprises. Tell me or it won't happen!" He gave her a dry look. "Start with some light nail grazing, some biting maybe some slaps." He said it like he was reading off a grocery list. She looked at him with a shocked horror. "You have all week to decide. Or when Carter pops back up we act like it never happened and I won't bring it back up unless you do."

Nixon was watching the little yellow t.v. in their room when Katie walked in. She looked her over, her eyes were red and blood shot and she was gripping to death a stuffed horse. "Did you see the news? They found Jaylah!" Nixon wailed. "I'm sorry about your friend!" She sobbed. Katie thought to herself that Nixon looked like she needed consoling more than she did. She sat down next to her roommate and wrapped her arms around her. Nixon wiped away her tears and recomposed herself. She gently leaned away from Katie, "No offense but your hugs are really uncomfortable." Katie nodded, "I've heard that before."

As she opened the little mini fridge, the only appliance that was Katie's and not yellow. She pulled out a Styrofoam to go box and shook it at Nixon. "It's shrimp fried rice, you can have the rest of it." Katie felt the weight and asked, "Are you sure? There's a lot." Nixon shook her head and laid down, "I was eating it when the report came on, I lost my appetite." Katie nodded that sounded normal, she popped it in the microwave and pulled out her buzzing phone. "Shit." Nixon jumped up, "What?" Like Katie would have gotten some kind of murderer notification via email. "Email from Professor Benoit."

She took a deep breath and opened it. "Damn." Nixon didn't ask out loud but her eyes were screaming for information. "I was supposed to turn in all the missing assignments and help grade papers a few times a month to get my grade up. He just canceled all of it saying not to worry about it." "Did he know you and Jaylah were friends?" Katie nodded at her. "Maybe the admins are worried about your mental health?" "That could be it. I have to call my dad."

Katie braced herself as her phone rang through. "Katie Bug." "Hi daddy." "What's wrong?" He could tell by her tone something was up. "They found Jaylah. And last night my boyfriend went missing. Cops think he might have been snatched up too." Katie said watching Nixon's face twist, she didn't know Carter was missing! There was a moment of silence on the other end. She thought he was processing maybe even obsessing like a normal parent. But he wasn't he was thinking of his wording, "Do I need to be overly concerned?" She sighed, "No daddy, I'm being safe just like you told me." There was a breath of relief on the other side. "I think you should come home Katie Bug, maybe college just isn't it for you." "I don't know yet daddy. I'll call you in a couple days okay?" "Okay Katie."

She laid back herself, Nixon rose to chastise her. "Carter's missing too?" She hissed. Katie covered her eyes with her hand, she really didn't like hearing that. "Yeah, but nothing official until tomorrow."
