Agent Vaughn

Wedding bells softly sang in the background as people still settled in their places for the ceremony to start. Vaughn stood at the alter, trying to stop his eyes from peering down at his watch.

Whoever said getting married on a beach was romantic clearly hasn't felt sand inside  of their shoes before. Or the heat of the sun, apparently.

It had been a total of 20 minutes and 45 seconds since this wedding had started and he has yet to see the bride. Vaughn hadn't been to many weddings, but he assumed that she was an important part.

Well not necessarily to him, or any other sad soul forced to be here, but she was to Mr. Jeffery; The groom and the person his cooperation put him in charge of protecting.

Vaughn was under cover as his best man, and to do that he had to learn anything and everything about him. And when he says everything he means everything.

From the guy's shoe size to the date of when he lost his v-card. It made him more uncomfortable then this tight suit he was forced to wear.

But it'll be worth it, once he got who he was gunning for.

A chorus of 'aws' cooed from the crowd, quickly snapping Vaughn out of his thoughts.

A toddler came down the isle, toothless grin on the thing's face as it proudly carried a ring box in it's grubby hands.

Why they choose to put almost 400 thousand dollars worth of jewelry into a child's possession was beyond him.

The thing slowed to approach him, and Vaughn physically stiffened, eyes scanning it from head to toe. Than he remembered he was suppose to be taking the rings from the kid as best man, and reluctantly offered a smile to it as he reached a hand out.

The thing tilted his head to the side a little bit, giving Vaughn a daring look as he said "I don't remember you from rehearsal..."

"I missed it." he answered smoothly.

He extended his hand out as far as it would go towards the thing without making him want to physically gag.

The little demon yanked the ring box back. "Then no ring for you. Ring for guy who go to rehearsal. "

He felt some attention shift towards them, luckily most of them getting distracted by the next brat walking down the isle, this time throwing flowers.

Vaughn's smile quickly disappeared, along with his patience..
