When you are born you get a tattoo of your soulmate's name somewhere on your body. A soulmate was supposed to be perfect for you and your needs. They are supposed to be your other half. Some people never find their soulmates and choose to be with someone else while others search their whole lives for their soulmate.
But when you meet the one, you realise that destiny orchestrated everything just to bring you together. But you never realize that until you meet the one. The feeling of being complete is a gift and so is everything else in life. But when you meet your soulmate your life will change forever.
——-
Marinette never disliked the idea of soulmates, but she was a little sceptical. How could there be only one person who was only perfect for you? But there was and that was how life was. Marinette stared at the name across the side of her ribs. Damian Wayne. She never bothered to search him up, if she was going to meet him it wasn't going to be because she spent half of her life looking for him. She put her shirt down and left for the hell hole called school.
——-
Damian never understood the need to have a soulmate, it eluded him. But if he were to run into them somewhere he wouldn't be opposed to getting to know them. He looked down at the tattoo on his shoulder blade. Marinette Dupain-Cheng. But now that didn't matter he was in Paris, a new country and he was starting at a new school. And Damian most certainly wasn't a people person.
——-
Marinette just wanted to get to class and have the day over already. No one liked her and she didn't like them. But it hurt her to think it wasn't always like that. Two years ago it was a completely different situation, they were all friends, good friends even, but when the new girl Lila Rossi, a narcissistic liar who lies with every breath it seemed, joined the class everything changed. Marinette saw through her lies when nobody else did and she called Lila out on them. But when Lila performed a very dramatic show of her crocodile tears, she claimed Marinette was bullying her and everyone else believed her just like that, even though it was the other way round, Lila was the one bullying Marinette. Way to find fake friends. Everyone turned on her and started to bully her along with Lila, they thought to bully, a bully would justify their actions. Marinette became quite a bit more distant towards everyone and tried to act like she was fine, she wasn't fine.Marinette was in the school halls just trying to mind her business when someone stuck their foot out and tripped her. She went flying, trying to grab onto anyone or anything that was nearby. But a boy with emerald green eyes and beautiful tan skin caught her. "Are you okay?" He had a fairly deep voice, but it was soothing. "Uh yeah, I'm fine. Thank you and sorry." She collected herself and kept going towards her class.
_____
In reality it was not Damian's choice to come to Paris and go to school there, it was the choice of his fathers. He said that Damian needed to interact more with people his age, and since he was opening a new branch there for WE, why not. In a way his father was right, most of the time he hung out with people his age it was very awkward, he needed to socialise more, not that he was ever going to admit that out loud.Damian was just heading to his first class when he saw someone trip a girl. He quickly got to her side and stopped her from falling. She latched onto his arms to maintain balance. She had the most beautiful, arctic blue eyes, they seemed to radiate warmth. Her skin was very pale compared to his own but that just made it easier to see the light shade of pink coming across her cheeks. "Are you okay?" He asked, trying to be polite, but at the same time he genuinely wondered. "Uh yeah, I'm fine. Thank You and sorry." She stuttered out, regaining her footing and the next thing he knew she was off, heading to her next class.
_____
Marinette entered class head down and headed to the back, she didn't need anything else to tick her off. But Miss Bustier came in quieting the rest of the class. "Good morning everyone, we have a new student here today." Miss Bustier gestured for the student waiting outside to come in. There now stood the boy who helped her from earlier this morning. "Class please welcome Damian Wayne, Damian you can sit with Marinette Dupain-Cheng." She froze at hearing the name. Her heart started to beat faster, she was afraid it was going to come out of her chest. She just stared at him wide eyed as he approached her.
_____
His new teacher, Miss Bustier ushered him in the classroom, when he noticed the girl he helped earlier. She froze when she heard his name. Yes, he was the son of a billionaire but it seemed to be much more than recognising a celebrity. But he seemed to understand when he heard her name. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the girl's name who he had tattooed on his back. For once in his life he had a genuine smile. He walked towards never once looking away, then he sat down. She came out of her daze, "Uh, hi,I'm Marinette but you already knew that. It seems you are my soulmate." She had said with a surprised smile, she held her hand out. But instead of shaking it he carefully brought her hand up to his lips, her hands were soft and very delicate as well as her features. She blushed lightly, which made him laugh, "So it seems, Marinette, so it seems."
