Kate said "she wanted to quit soccer and basketball." John was surprised and said "Why you are better at those sports than swim you suck at swim Kate you should never have that goal!" Kate got so mad she said "I will show you." Then she remembered that Erica said "never give up and don't let people stand in your way." Then Kate's mom came down and said what is wrong and she told her what happened. Kate's mom got mad at John and he said "well it is true she needs to learn some how"
The next day Kate told Erica, Abby, and Grace they were shocked. Kate said "my dad has been mad at me since I started having this goal and I don't know why." Grace said "Maybe he is mad that you are quitting basketball and soccer remember he used to love those sports." Kate said "That is probably right thanks grace your the best." I know I am Grace bragged.
I started to walk down stairs and Kate heard her mom and my dad talking. She froze in her tracks. For once in her life she heard him crying. He was yelling at Kate's mom because he wanted Kate to be good at that sport to. I don't want her to swim because I... His voice trailed off and she couldn't here him anymore.
She went downstairs when her dad got in the shower and she asked her mom and Kate's mom said "he just doesn't want you to leave him so early." What do you mean mom" Kate said. "you get to go the Olympic trials." Kate's mom said
"Really mom!!" Kate said "Yes Kate they want you. You are the best swimmer out of your age group and you are almost better than all of the high school kids well you are better than all you just aren't better than Erica's older sister Emily."
"You get to go in 1 years to the Olympic trials then if you make it you can go to the Olyimpics. Where is it at London."
"Oh and dad doesn't think I'm ready to go by myself." Kate said "Yes that is why but you will go I promise." Kate's mom said "Thanks mom you are the best I love you so much." Kate's mom was happy and sad that she is going. "Now go get training Kate."
