"I still can't believe you are sitting here in my house! I thought I'd never see y-" Jen straightened up and the glimmer in her eyes dulled when she made contact with my eyes.
We had all now got adjusted and were sitting in the living. Jen and Grayson took their places on the couch and I took the recliner that sat off to the side in the corner.
The tension in the room was so thick that it made it difficult to breath. I knew I was the one creating it. But I also knew they were both holding something back from me but I wasn't quite sure what it could possibly be.
We sat silenced for a long time, the only sound that occupied the apartment was the sound of water dripping from our leaky sink.
"So," Grayson started but stopped to clear his throat because his words got caught half way out, "I really need to talk to my sister... Alone." His cold eyes made their way to mine spending a shiver down my spine.
I gave a gently nod and headed for my bedroom.
"You should probably sleep in my room tonight, Lid." Jen sent a small, sad smile at me. She knew just how Miles could be.
An almost silent, "goodnight." Escaped my mouth as I walked into Jen's room, closing the door behind me. I wasn't sure if either of them heard me but it didn't really matter to me. I was just dying to know what they were withholding from me.
As I climbed into bed, I could hear a low mumble of voices coming from Jen and Grayson out in the living room. My ears strained as I tried to make out what they were saying but their tones were far too quiet to even hear a single word.
I laid in the dark for quite some time listening to their hushed conversation, longing to know what it was about. Before I knew it my eyelids grew increasingly heavy and complete exhaustion flooded over my entire body. School was going to be hell tomorrow.

I was rudely woken to an overly excited Jen who was wearing a giant grin that spread from ear to ear."I have a question for you sleepy head. And you're going to need to have an open mind, I personally think it's a great plan and I would absolutely love it if you said yes." Her words came out so rapidly I was barely able to comprehend the words that flooded from her mouth.
"One, could you speak a little slower I'm only half awake and two, my mind is wide open and I'm ready for your lovely question." Jen always said she hated when I acted like a smartass but I think she secretly love it.
"Can Grayson live with us for a little while? Now before you say no I want you know that he is a really great guy and he will pay his part of the rent. Oh did I also mention he cooks and cleans?" She gave me a wink. We both hated cooking and cleaning but I knew she was just trying to sell her case.
I propped myself up on my elbows so I could be more eye level with her.
"Jen. I don't kn-"
"Please, please Lidia! This would honestly mean the world to me and I don't think I could forgive you if you said no."
"So basically you're blackmailing me into saying yes." I replied flatly.
"Pretty much. So can he please stay?" The grin she once wore returned to her face even bigger than it had been before.
She dropped to her knees and began pleaded like a child while I was contemplated my choices.
"Alright. I guess." I announced slowly.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! You won't regret it." She squealed as she wrapped me up into a bone crushing bear hug.
"I hope not." I said through the small breaths that I could get.
She released me from her death grip and excitedly sprinted out of the room. I could hear her ecstatic voice practically yelling as she told Grayson he could stay.
My eyes wondered their way over to the clock that read 7:15.
Fuck! My classes started at 7:30. Luckily it was only a ten minute drive to the college but that left me only five minutes to get ready. I was definitely going to be late.
"Jen I can't believe you let me over sleep!" I shouted as I scrambled out of her bed.
"She went to go get breakfast. Quit yelling!" An angry voice erupted from the living room.
"Damn, alright then." I mumbled to myself as I made my way to the bathroom.
There were doors that connected the bathroom to our bedrooms so luckily I didn't have to deal with Grayson yet.
I was utterly shocked to find a shirtless Grayson standing over the sink beginning to brush his teeth. I couldn't help but look at his perfectly toned torso. Everything from his arms to his stomach was beautifully chiseled.
"Quit gawking." He growled casting an icy, cold glare at me through the mirror.
"Sorry I, uh didn't know umm," I felt like a complete fool under his gaze, "I was gawking don't flatter yourself and I thought you were in the living room." I pulled myself together and was able to finish my sentence off strong and confident.
"I was but I did this amazing thing called walking and well now here I am." He said in a sarcastically flat tone.
I just wanted to punch the smug look he wore right off his stupid face.
"Well could you do that amazing thing called walking and walk yourself right out of the bathroom." I stated in a tone equal to his.
"Anything for you, princess." He said with a taunting smile lingering across his lips.
We both just stood there in a breathless silence for a few moments. His blue eyes penetrated a menacing glare into my own leaving me with an unsettling feeling in my stomach.
He made it clear to knock my shoulder as him exited through the door that lead to Jen's room.
"Oh yeah you're boyfriend went home and he wants you to suck his dick. Oh uh I mean call him." Grayson snickered from inside of Jen's room.
Great. Not only was Grayson intimidating but he was also immature. I suddenly began to regret my decision as I felt sick to my stomach just thinking about Grayson sleeping under the same roof as me.
