A/N: Before we get into the second chapter, I want to set people's expectations. This story will not reflect canon events, though key events like USJ and I-Island will probably be still written into this story, just... altered. Enjoy, and please give a like and follow if you enjoy this story. Also tw; mentions of suicide

Everyone's tale had to start somewhere. Mine started here, in this Asylum. If you find this note, you must have gone and ended up in here. Though that's impossible.

An Undead can't die, now can it?

Izuku's eyes fluttered open. To him, the one hour of rest that he took in a futile attempt to calm his nerves for the entrance exam was not even close to enough.

Then again, it was not like he needed sleep, him being an Undead and all.

He wasted his time, now that he realized. He could have spent the one hour simulating a few more fights so that at least he could feel prepared for what was to come.

"We're here. That would be..." Before the driver could even say how much, Izuku tossed him a Rusted Gold Coin. He had no money on hand after all. "Will that be enough, sir?" He asked.

The driver's eyes went wide, then he bit down on the coin. It was solid gold. "Yes, yes of course. I'm sorry, what's your name again, boy?"

"Izuku Midoriya. Er-- Midoriya Izuku," he corrected himself, and the driver got out of the car. "The next time I see you, you'll get to ride free with me. Does that sound like a good deal?"

"Ah, of course. Thank you for the offer, sir." Izuku nodded and the two shook hands. "I have to go. I have an entrance exam to take."

"Good luck, Midoriya, sir!" The driver shouted as Izuku walked down the street. He would've been embarrassed that someone called him by such a title if he was his old self.

But, one could say the old Izuku Midoriya was long dead. He was no longer the same, what with all the death he encountered.

Enough of that, however. He walked up the stairs leading up to the school entrance. His nerves had died down somewhere during the talk with that taxi driver, and he felt ready. For the first time in his miserable existence, he actually felt ready for anything.

'Let the world throw anything at me, I can take it! ... Nevermind forget what I said if there are gods up there please don't actually do that, please and thank you...!' Arrogance was the downfall of just about anyone.

"Um... what?" A voice chimed in from behind, and Izuku just facepalmed mentally. "I spoke what I was thinking, wasn't I?"

"Um, I think so..." He turned to face the girl he was speaking to. She had brown hair and a round face. She looked... kinda cute actually. Though she had nothing on the Firekeeper...

"Your face is red, are you alright?" The girl asked, and Izuku realized one thing: he STILL could not talk to girls. His one weakness that neither Lordran nor Lothric could beat out of him.

There was Anri, then Sirrus, then Yuria... He had met so many women on his journey, married one of them too. They were all capable fighters mind you, and he had the honor of fighting alongside each one of them.

Gwyn, he could go all day just praising every single one of them. Especially that giant of a woman called Gwynevere, Queen of Sunlight. If Solaire got to meet her, then maybe he wouldn't have gone insane...

"The way I see it, our fates appear to be intertwined. In a land brimming with Hollows, could that really be mere chance? So, what do you say? Why not help one another on this lonely journey?"
