Kongpob is in the middle of thoroughly kissing Arthit, when his phone interrupts them.
"Answer your darned phone, Kongpob!" The ringer exclaims, startling Arthit who immediately removes himself from Kong's arms and grabs the handset from the bedside table.
"Why am I on your phone?" Arthit demands, staring down at Kongpob, who raises a hand to cover his eyes, surprised it has taken so long for Arthit to finally hear himself.
"Kongpob!" Arthit demands as his voice makes its announcement again, both the live and recorded versions sounding equally pissed off.
"Sorry, P!" Kong says, grabbing the phone to check who's calling. When he sees that it's his sister, he decides to ignore it in favour of sorting out the little problem known as Storm Arthit instead.
"Well..." he begins, as he turns to face his doom.
Arthit is staring at him, expression unreadable. It's not something Kongpob experiences often. Usually he can tell at once if his boyfriend is angry or excited or worried or shy. He can even work out when he's feeling horny now! Which is why they were currently in the middle of a pre-bedtime makeout session (a rare occurrence that Kongpob is thoroughly annoyed has been interrupted.)
"Yes?" Arthit says, that same blank look on his face, which is worrying Kong quite a lot.
"I love your voice when you get mad?" Kong asks, trying to work out if that's something his boyfriend wants to hear, "I like to hear your voice during the day when you're not with me. And your voice... oh," Kong shivers a little at the thought, "It reminds me of the face you make. And I love that face! When your eyebrows draw together and you have a spark in your eye that makes me want to leap on you..."
Kongpob stops speaking as Arthit's eyebrows start to lift and his face runs through a myriad of emotions which both excite and worry him. His boyfriend doesn't say anything though, and Kongpob wonders if he should say something else.
But then Arthit opens his mouth, and his head hazer voice comes out, "Kongpob number 0062, I order you..." he pauses, eyes tracing over Kongpob's face, then he breaks into a shy grin and his voice softens, "to kiss me 200 times!"
Kong feels his face split into a wide smile as he stares at Arthit in surprise. But then, before any minds can be changed, he launches into action, raining kisses over Arthit's face, even focusing on the crease between his eyebrows for quite a while!
When they come up for air, Arthit is bright red, mostly from his own embarrassment at his reaction to Kongpob. So Kong moves away to give him the space he needs to recover, reaching for his phone to check for a voicemail from his eldest sister.
Arthit's gasp of surprise has him spinning to face his boyfriend, concern written across his face. "P'Arthit?"
"Your screen..." Arthit says, hand reaching out to take it. "Is this...?"
Kongpob nods shyly, watching his P for a reaction.
Arthit studies the picture for a long time, sliding his fingers over it to zoom in to see the details of it. "But how?" He asks, eyes searching Kongpob's face for an answer.
"Well, there was a girl staying at the resort who I met on my morning run. I told you about her?" Arthit nods, eyes straying back to the photo, a small smile creeping onto his lips as Kongpob speaks. "Well on our last morning she told me she had a gift for me. Then she showed me this...and... well, I might have cried a little." Kongpob confesses, reaching out to slide his fingers between his lovers where they fit perfectly.
"You said it was windburn that made your eyes so red!" Arthit accuses, rolling on to his side so they are facing each other. "Why didn't you show me?"
"Well, I was planning to..." Kong pauses, "Have it enlarged for our wall?" He points to a gap amongst the maze of photos that tell the story of their relationship, which are spread over the bedroom walls.
Arthit nods, murmuring his agreement that it would fit in perfectly. Then he glances up, "Was it to be a surprise?" He asks softly.
"Maybe..." Kongpob smiles back.
Arthit's soft lips press against his, a gentle thank you kissed into his skin. "I love you, Kong," he whispers.
"Love you too," Kongpob murmurs back, his focus on capturing Arthit in another kiss while he can.
"But it's your lock screen? And my voice is your ring tone?" Arthit breaks away from him, glaring to show that he knows what he was trying to do with his kisses, "Aren't you worried about people seeing?"
"A little, I guess," Kongpob says honestly. "But, when we're not together, when I can't be by your side, it just... makes me happy."
"Oh..." Arthit takes a shaky breath beside him.
"Are you crying, P?" Kong asks, arm snaking around him again.
"No, Kong," Arthit sniffs, turning his face to bury it in Kongpob's chest. "It's just allergies! But... can you send this to me? Now? And...ummm...maybe...could you record yourself... saying something annoying...or something? Maybe I could use it... for a joke of course!"
Kongpob chuckles, leaning to press a kiss to Arthit's ear. "Sure," he says easily, "I can do that Ai'Oon."
The pillow fight that commences after his use of Arthit's nickname, is one of their greatest battles! And when he reads it back in his diary, even years later, he can hear how much they love each other pouring from the page!
Arthit's ringtone however, which he thought would be quite amusing, even irritates himself after a short while. "P'Arthit? P'Arthit? Wake up! It's 8am!" So he accidentally loses the voice file and replaces it, pretty quickly.
"P'Arthit, I love you," stays on Arthit's phone for many years. And his lock screen remains the picture of them both beside the tree until the day their wedding photo takes its place.
But in their maze of photos it's always prominently displayed.
The moment they cemented their relationship.
The moment they both knew they were forever.
