'i look at you like you hung the stars & moon in the sky'

-

sounds of squeaking sneakers and mild chatter filled the halls as both izuku and denki walked through the tall double doors of yuuei high school.

"oh wow, look it's the two besties matching." a voice teased.

izuku could practically hear the smirk in such a familiar voice. though, it was true. they were matching, denki was clad in a pastel green and white sweatshirt and a pair of cuffed ripped jeans, and a new pair of white converse. they were bound to get dirty sooner than later but he liked them better like that anyway.

while izuku had a pastel yellow and white oversized shirt and skinny jeans and white vans. the shirt was baggy yet covered everything perfectly.

"shut up, kacchan." izuku scoffed, rolling his eyes at the blond. "yeah, kacchan." denki said, making sure to use the mocking nickname.

katsuki clicked his teeth, "stop calling me that deku and dunce!" he grumbled.

he acted annoyed by the name yet never did anything about it. that's just how their relationship was, constant playful bickering about pretty much nothing.

both izuku and denki looked at one another, making eye contact for a while before looking back at katsuki and bursting into laughter.

katsuki grew flustered, "stop doing the telekinesis shit, weirdos!" he yelled, storming off. probably to go to his classes.

it was as if they could read each other's minds as they continued, falling over each other as they mocked katsuki. to a passing student, they looked insane.

only they knew what they were talking about, what was so funny. all of the other poor losers just had to stare with jealousy.

they eventually calmed down, and denki's laughter began to fade before izuku's. he watched as the greenie moved his glasses over to wipe the tears from his eyes.

izuku's cheeks were a soft shade of pink from laughing so hard, the blush only making the freckles on his cinnamon-dusted skin seem even darker. his long black eyelashes were damp from a few tears that he wiped away.

with such a bright smile on his face, denki couldn't help but stare.

'he's really pretty when he's laughing... i'm kind of jealous, no wonder everyone likes him.'

"that was funny, but are you ready to get our schedules?" izuku asked. denki was slightly dazed yet he shook his head.

"alright! let's go." izuku said, grabbing denki's wrist and heading to the front desk of the school.

denki was just barely catching up, running behind izuku to make sure he didn't trip. as he ran behind izuku, he saw the back of his head.

his wild green hair was freshly cut into an undercut, and that nest of wild green curls still sat on his head. though, his hair was much more manageable than it was before.

'i love his new hairstyle, he looks great with anything..'

denki nearly slapped himself, where were all of these thoughts coming from? he was izuku's best friend and only his best friend.. nothing more.

the halls were busy, full of first-day confusion. many freshmen were confused, attempting to ask moody seniors or second-years which class is which only to get ignored, resulting in them walking around cluelessly.

izuku knew how that felt, he hated the first days in a new school, constantly lost and without a friend. though, no matter how much he wanted to help, he had to get himself situated before aiding others.
