*Shawn’s POV*

Jordan instructed Taylor, Nash, Cameron, Carter, Hayes, Gilinsky, Johnson, Matt, Mahogany, Trevor, Jc, Kian, Connor, Ricky, and Sam to meet at the house and go to her room at 12:00 sharp. She gave me the key to her room and told me to open it when everyone we there. Right now we all were crowded in the hallway in front of her room. We’re confused as to why we have to meet or why we have to wait.

“It’s noon. Whoever has the key, open the door.” Someone said. I was too busy thinking to put a face to the voice. I take a deep breath and unlock the door. We file into an empty room. I check the bathroom to see that its empty too. When I walk out everyone was in front of her desk. There was a white board propped against the wall and envelopes splayed neatly across. The board read: ‘Congrats, you survived one day without me. Now spend the rest of your lives doing the same. I’m sorry and I love you all.’

My breath got caught in my throat. I stood there frozen reading the message over and over again. He more I read it the more it’s true. She can’t be serious. Maybe this is some sick joke. Maybe she wanted to scare us and at any second she’ll pop out and laugh and say ‘Just kidding guys! I’m sorry! Love you!’ I go to the roof to see if she was there. I knew she wasn’t but I needed to check.

When I got back into the room that’s when it became a reality. Everyone was in a panic. Some on their phones others were searching in the room. A phone starting ringing and I immediately recognize the ring tone. Everyone stops moving to listen. Jordan left her phone. I feel my heart sinking. Jordan never leaves her phone anywhere; she never loses it that way. Everybody knows that too.

“Okay. I know that this looks really bad but maybe her location is on her phone.” Aaron chimed. His voice sounded worried but had a hint of relief. I grab Jordan’s phone and go to her notes. There was one labeled ‘My Location’. I opened it and copied the address onto my phone and turned around.

“I got it. Whose going?” I asked.

“Easy. You, me Gilinsky, Taylor, Kian, and Jc.” Aaron stated.

“Dude! Fuck no. You’re staying here.” Gilinsky argued.

“Why?”

“Because—”

“Look, we don’t have time. Aaron you’re staying and Mikey you’re going. Let’s go.” I said it before walking out the room and ran to the car.

We arrived in front of a forest. We called 911 on the way over here but we got here before them. We talked about if we would wait for help or go off on our own. We decided that Mikey, Gilinsky, and I would go look for her while the other three wait for help. My heart is pounding as we walk in the forest. I didn’t know what to expect. Would we find Jordan leaning up against a tree crying and apologizing like she’s stuck on repeat? Or would we find Jordan… gone?

I wasn’t looking so I bumped into Gilinsky and Mikey. I heard one of them whisper ‘Please God no!’ and the other whisper ‘No fucking way!’ I looked up and saw what made them freeze. Feet. Dangling feet. I slowly follow the feet looking up and say Jordan’s blue yet peaceful face. I dropped to my knees still looking at my twin.

“No-no way. This is just a dream,” I clutch my head and closed my eyes and look at the ground with tears pouring down my face. “it’s just a dream. A really, really bad dream. It’s a nightmare. None of this is real. And when I open my eyes I’ll wake up.” I looked up and saw the horrifying image of my little sister suspended in the air. “No! Jordan!”

“Shawn, let’s go. You can’t— We need to take you out of here.” Either Gilinsky or Mikey or even both stood me up. I couldn’t see. My blurry vision blocked the clear sight of everything except that image of Jordan. I really don’t want to believe it.\
