Keep Your Eyes Closed

One, two, three, four, five, six-

"Dad, where's Pa?" Michael asked from the bundle of blankets he was wrapped in. It did barely anything against the wind and snow, but they had to keep moving.

"He's just a few steps behind us." Tubbo chattered.

Ranboo was indeed a few steps behind the two, but all that was left was his crown and a tattered suit jacket.

And they where coming

Please, just a few more. He has to be safe.

A deep growling came from behind him, as two bright red eyes pierced through the snow, followed by two more sets.

Bad, Antfrost, and Punz stepped out, decked out with the strongest armor imaginable. Tubbo was no match, and he knew.

"Please, why?" He begged. "why are you killing us?"

"oh, the egg has demands." Bad hissed.

Michael whimpered from under Tubbo's cloak. "Dad, whats happening?"

The three cornered Tubbo and took out their weaponry.

"just keep your eyes closed, ok bud?

just keep them closed"

Tubbo didn't make it out alive.

But when Techno came to collect him, he found Michael, curled up on his father and still covering his eyes.

As Techno brought him home, he realized something.

Tubbo asked Michael to cover his eyes not because he didn't want him to see their attackers, but so that he wouldn't have to see Tubbo die.

"Can I open my eyes now?" He whimpered, covered in Techno's robe.

"Yeah, yeah you can."

When he opened his eyes, he saw Techno's pink hair and red eyes looking at him with an emotion he couldn't describe even if he tried.

Behind him, there were splatters of blood.

They were leading back to Tubbo's body, wrapped in blankets and tied to a sled.

Michael whimpered and closed his eyes again.

The cottage appeared in the distance, and all the dogs ran up, nosing up Techno, greeting him. He gave a half-hearted laugh and pushed their snout aside, while Michael was gripping his robes so hard he could barely put him down.

"PHILLLL"

"WHAT." Phil called out from the turtle farm. He opened the door, and then paused as he saw Techno.

"We've got a new member of the Syndicate." Techno said.
