I'm so sorry I've been hit with the worse case of writer's block in the world.
I stared at Alpha Black, trying to gauge his reaction to my confession. His green eyes stared back at me
"Well, uh, that's less surprising than I thought it would be. I never thought you and Aiden would last forever. Not a perfect match, my mate would say." My head snapped to Alpha Clark, eyes wide. "Have you and Alpha Black discussed what happens next?"
I looked back towards Ryder, a question in my eyes. Will you take me, even knowing nothing about me? I honestly didn't know if he would after this morning.
Silence fell across the room, and it felt like everyone was holding their breath waiting for Alpha Black's response.
"My mate belongs with me," Ryder said firmly. I tried to ignore the hint of possessiveness in his voice as he stared at me. "However, I understand Artemis has a huge role in this pack, and you," He looked at me, "May not be open to leaving it all behind."
"I will admit I'd hate to give you up, Artemis." Alpha Clark said, intertwining his hands and placing them on his desk.
"I need to go to Alpha Black's pack anyways, so we can discuss safe trade and more with Zeta David." I took a breath, looking at my brother. "So if you are open to it, I could go there for a few months, and see what happens then." I didn't want to completely commit myself to my mate's pack, not until I was sure he would treat me like a mate should.
"I can work with that," Alpha Clark's eyes slid to Alpha Black's, who nodded in agreement. "Who would be in charge? Carter?" I shook my head.
"I need Carter with me, he will be able to assist me better by my side." It wasn't a lie, but I also didn't want to leave Orion and Aiden anywhere close to each other without my supervision. "Alex Campbell would be good for the role." Campbell was the best I could give if I was taking Orion with me, he wasn't a push over, but I did worry about Aiden's manipulative nature. I didn't want to abandon my role and leave the pack in the hands of Braxton and Aiden but occasionally I have to put myself first. Or at least second.
"I trust your judgement," Alpha Clark nodded. "Have you told Aiden yet?" Alpha Black stiffened up at the mention of Aiden.
"No, I haven't." I said tentatively. Truthfully, I didn't know how I was going to tell him without him going mental and possibly, no definitely, torturing me.
"Good, I think it would be best for me to be there with you when you tell him. As you know, he can go into a rage sometimes." Alpha Clark said with the slightest bit of concern.
You have no idea.
I took a deep breath and prepared to negotiate for my friend's safety.
"I have two more requests, only if both of you are okay with it." I started, and with a nod from both Alphas I continued. "I am not leaving my sister here, I think it's too dangerous with how volatile Braxton is. On top of it Binna is at the age where she is allowed to travel outside the pack. It would be good for her."
