(14) One step at a time

On the very next day in the hospital very bright and early in the morning Alex seemed to be getting better. The doctors had been working on her for days now hoping she would live and she did indeed live but they weren't completely sure about he chances of staying alive. Her vitals at the time were still to low to consider her truly alive but as of now she has fully been alive. The doctor's get positive results form her vitals and knows that she is finally on the road to recovery. One of the doctors leave and head towards where Carter and Susan are currently relaxing. 

"Oh I had no idea you would be here this early Mr Carter". One of the doctors asked. 

"I know it's just...is our baby girl alright". Carter asks worried. The doctor explained that she was indeed okay and that she has finally starting the road to recovery. But the person who did this to her unfortunately...she is paralyzed but not forever. She'll have to know how to walk. Crater understands and Lennox calls him on his phone. 

"Go on crater you can answer it I'm *yawns* going back to sleep". Crater nodded and stepped out of the room and answered the phone. 

"What do you want now Lennox". Crater scoffed over the phone. 

"I was jut asking how Alex is doing". Lennox said. 

"Well she is fine and awake now and why do you care so damn much". Crater said defensively. 

"I know it seems like we're useless right now I get that...but I promise we'll help you in away we can". Lennox reassured. Crater sucked his teeth and walked back into the room and put Lennox on speaker. Susan wasn't sleeping yet so crater asked if they could have a discussion to which she said yes to. 

"H-hello l-Lennox". Susan said. 

"Hello Ms Susan as I was discussing with your husband it seems a decepticon is after you" Lennox explained. 

"A...d-decepticon? Those guys are still a-around? I thought you guys had token care of them". Susan questioned. 

"No we did get most of them but their are still others who aren't working together in the world. It's our mission to track them down and stop them without getting into the eyes of the public to much". Lennox explained. 

"If so then why does a decepticon attack my wife and daughter? You didn't check to see that area of the attack". Crater mocked. 

"Crater behave they are trying their best to insure the safe of the planet". Susan said. 

"The planet could go to hell I only care about you and our daughter". Crater said. 

"The area where it seems a decepticon attacked doesn't have any clues...Ironhide and ratchet checked very early in the morning. There's not even road tracks". Lennox muttered. 

"You had better have this decepticon found and have him pay for what he did to our daughter". Crater said. 

"Will do but for now you two should get some sleep it's been a long couple of hours for you both". Lennox said. Crater and Susan agreed as Lennox hanged up the phone. Crater and Susan both drifted off into sleeping after the other relief and hope traveling through into their dreams. 

*hours later*. 

Hours later in the nest base things ran like normal. Ratchet was in the med bay, Ironhide was in the shooting range/training room, jazz was listening to some music and helping Optimus with some decoding and the big autobot himself Optimus was about to have a discussion with everyone on what him and Lennox just got info on. Optimus walked out of the office and into the autobot hanger with Lennox and Epps on his shoulders. 

"Autobots meet me in the autobot hanger we have important information to share". Optimus commands over the com links. Everyone hears this and begins to leave where they were before and make their way to Optimus. Jazz soon arrives as Ironhide and ratchet come soon after. 

"What's the big news Optimus". Ironhide questions. 

"It seems we had just gotten more information on the car that was used in a drive by to shot Alex and Susan...but something isn't right". Lennox comments as he shows the photo on the computers. The image of the photo was to hard to see at all and none knew of this decepticon vehicle only that it was massive in size. 

"How does a decepticon vehicle that big move so fast"? Epps questions. 

"I do not believe it is that big I think it's the image and how it was presented". Ratchet said. 

"We still have no clear plans of catching this decepticon in fact we don't even have a good looking image of it". Jazz pointed out. 

"Where was the photo taken and how long ago was it"? Optimus asked. 

"This was token just this morning a few minutes ago". Lennox explained. 

"Unfortunately that area had extreme weathering in the past few hours so what ever clues we're there are long gone now". Epps explained. 

"How is Alex doing"? Jazz asked. 

"She has finally started to road to recovery and should be able to visit soon". Lennox said. Ratchet's spark immediately became revealed of the news but knew the only way to apologize for everything was to first take to Alex's parents. 

"We still have nothing on this decepticon threat it would be wise to prepare for something but not do anything". Ratchet said. Everyone agreed as they all went back awaiting another mission.
