Chapter 8

Chris's POV
-
I smile and sneak up behind Rose. I kiss her neck gently.
"Hey babe," I smile and pull her into a hug.
"Hey," she mumbles, her voice hardly audible.
"What's wrong?" I ask nervously. "Are you, um, cheating on me?"
"What?! No, never!" I shake my head in horror at the thought.
"Why'd you think that?" I inquire.
"Your house is so clean..." she smirks.
"We cleaned it for you," I kiss her again.
She smiles sweetly and deepens the kiss.
We pull away as someone's door shuts.
Jack.
I sigh, figuring I should talk to him.
As I open the door, he pulls me in suddenly and starts trying to punch me.
Naturally, I fight back and shove him off.
"She belongs with me!" He yells and takes a swing. I sweep his legs out from under him and his head smashes against his desk opening a long gash. I panic and call the hospital. We get an airlift from our farm and I hold his hand tears streaming down my face all the way.
"Jack, I'm so sorry... don't die on me!" I sob.
