Chapter 1: Surprised

I know I should be more excited that today is the last day of school and that I'm on summer break but something tells me this summer is going to suck. Every single summer break is really the same thing. You can wake up at whatever time you want. And who could forget about doing something outside so your parents won't complain that you lay on the freaking couch all day. So, that's basically how my whole summer goes. Well, maybe it"ll be different this year, well at least I hope it will.

I'm walking to my car when I see my Mom waving at me. She's wearing the usual which is her red dress with her black high heels. How can my Mom wear high heels and I can't even wear wedges?

And of course she comes with my little brother Matthew. Who I love very much, but gets on my nerves sometimes. Anyways, when I get in the car my Mom only tells me one thing, which is very weird because my Mom usually tells me two million things.

My Mom tells me, "Allison your going to summer camp".

What the hell! My Mom knows I hate the outdoors more than I hate chemistry! How could my Mom just burst out saying I'm going to camp when she knows that I would probably disagree with her.

There was a long silence in the car for a minute then my Mom asked, "Allison aren't you excited"? "No, Mom how could you have just made a decision without me", I said.

From there the car was dead silent. Until Matthew burst out laughing. "What so funny", I asked. "Well it's funny how girls fight, I mean one minute they hate each other and the next minute they act like nothing ever happened".

I should have been mad at him but at least now he knows how a girls brain works. I hope he will remember that when he gets a girlfriend some day.
