Lila's P.O.V. (Before her first date with Josh)
It's 10:00 in the morning and me and Ava are sitting on the couch watching one of our favorite movies 'The Notebook'. We eat our cereal as the movie plays, "Wait a second!" Ava blurts out making me jump. "What?" I ask. "Tonight is your date with Josh remember!!" She nearly screams in my ear. Sighing deeply nodding my head, I was trying to forget about it so I won't be nervous the whole day. "So what's your point?". Ava looks at me like I'm dumb, "My point is that we need to find you something super cute to wear!" She says in a duh tone. I have cute clothes! I don't need to go shopping! As if reading my mind Ava says, "Yes, we're going shopping!" I look at her annoyed as she yanks me up and drags me to my room to get dressed.
We arrive at 'The Claire Mesa Mall' and go straight to my all time favorite store, 'Urban Outfitters'. I soon see a simple black sweater and a pair of bright white skinny jeans on a manikin. "That's so cute! I'm going to try it on!" I tell Ava. She's too busy looking at the jewelry to even notice. I stand in front of the mirror in the dressing room admiring my new out fit. 'I need boots! That will totally throw this whole outfit together' I think to my self.
Quickly changing back into my old clothes, I grab my new out fit and start searching for boots. "LILA!!" I turn around and see my best friend charging at me with a pair of dark boots that stop just below the knee it looks like. "What??" I say anxiously. "I found these boots and you need to try them on!". "Wait a sec, how did you know I was looking for boots, you were on the other side of the store" I say confused. "Call it a best friends intuition, and I also saw it next to the manikin that you got your out fit from" she explains. How did I not see that? Oh well, I have boots now!
As we walk to the cash register, we pass a rack that has a ton of beanies in different colors. I look at Ava for her opinion. "Oh what the hell! Just get it!" she says and we both laugh. I grab the white beany and we proceed on our journey to the check out line. Once everything is all rang up the total comes to $75.13, wow thats almost all of my babysitting money. But this is an important night for me, so I need the perfect outfit.
We leave the store and head towards the food court. We sit down with our food from 'Panda Express' and start talking about the date. "Are you nervous?". "Just a little, I'm trying not to think about it, but you keep bringing it up every five minutes, kind of makes it hard Ava". "Oh yea sorry, well since we're already on the subject, are you going to kiss him?"
I nearly spit out my drink to her question. "What?!" I reply shocked. She laughs, "So I take that as a no?". I finally get control over myself, "Wow that was an unexpected question Ava." "Obviously." I hear her mutter. "Well?" She asks. Oh yea she's still waiting for me to answer. "Probably not Ava, I mean if he goes for it than yeah, but I would never make the first move."
"Well you do like him right?" I feel my cheeks heat up as I look down at my food. "That is a definite yes" Ava says giggling. I look back up at her with a smirk on my face, then I nod confirming her last question. Of course I like him, there is no reason to deny it any longer, I admit it, I LIKE JOSH GRAHAM!!
It's now 6:00pm, exactly an hour and a half until my date with Josh. Nervous? Well that's an understatement! I am literally freaking out. I stand up from my bed and pace back and forth in my room, breathing heavily. "Wow, you really are nervous." I turn around when I recognize Ava's voice. "Help me! What do I do?". She shakes her head and laughs "Well for starters you need to calm the hell down".
We walk into my bathroom and she sits me on the purple stool. "Ok this time I'm going to do a side fish tail braid, and your make up is going to be really simple." She explains while taking my brown hair into her hands and braids it into a fish tail. Wow it actually looks really good! I don't know how well the make up will turn out though...
