Charles had just finished trying to negotiate with one of his last witches that are friends with his family to try and help Veronica. But Klaus threatened each single one of them and all of the witches left. Charles groaned loudly as he pinched his nose with his hand. "Klaus Mikaelson! I said, '' Let me do the talking." Charles raised his voice while Klaus rolled his eyes. "This is why I like your brother more than you if you must know."

Klaus smirked. "If you keep on trying to threaten witches, please do not forget they will curse you and we have little time to find Veronica and your child." Charles said while Klaus smirk turned into a frown. "You always love it when you ruin the mood."

Klaus said, Rebekah and Francis walked in. "We have someone, someone that says they know where She is." Rebekah said this made Charles jump from his seat, imagining Veronica being safe and sound. "Who is this girl?" Charles asked and Francis moved to the side showing Sophie. "Veronica is in trouble, she needs our help." Sophie says, which makes Charles' eyes widened.

Veronica groans in pain as Kai finishes saying his incantation, her head fell down as her hand was tied with wolfsbane. Her face being covered by her hair, she wanted it to be over. Kai grabbed her chin and made her look at him as he was about to speak, his neck was snapped and he fell into the ground. Veronica looked up at who snapped Kai's neck. It was charles. Veronica looked over at him and she sighed in relief.

"Did you really think I would let you leave before me?" Charles asked with a grin. Veronica chuckled before she motioned over her restraints. "Help me get these off, I can't move because-" Veronica said but was cut off by Charles knowing the familiar smell. "Wolfsbane, don't worry, just stay still." Charles said as he slowly took off the restraints as Veronica felt her pain lifted.

When Charles took off her restraints. "Tell me if you could walk." Charles said softly to her which Veronica nodded. Veronica slowly got up, she felt her legs trembling before she almost hit the ground due to the pain. Charles grabbed her in time and carried her bridal style. "Don't worry, Darling I got you." Charles softly said as Veronica leaned her head onto his chest as they made their way towards the compound.

Everyone got up as they saw Charles carrying Veronica. "How is she? Is she okay?" Rebekah asked almost immediately. Charles nodded as he looked over at Veronica who was soundly sleeping. "She needs some sleep, she deserves it." Charles said, everyone except Klaus nodded. Charles went upstairs into a random and not used room and put Veronica on the bed.

He closely examined her wounds before he found more. "Oh my, Veronica what has he done to you?" He said softly as if he was talking to himself. Charles noticed some of Veronica's hair in her face, he took the strands and put it over her ear. "Sweet dreams." Charles softly said with a smile before he kissed the top of her head.

He left the room to let Veronica sleep in peace, not long after Klaus came in. He looked at her sleep before he looked away. He still couldn't believe that she is pregnant with his child. "I promise, I'll be a good father to this unborn child." Klaus said as he didn't want the others to hear bc he doesn't want them to know that he is a big softie.  And boom end of chapter.
