Arriving at the locker room, Allison feels her nervousness set in. I hope so freaking bad that no one in my intern program knows about what went on back in that meeting, she thinks to herself. Oh, who am I kidding, they probably start making fun of me whenever I walk in. After all, everyone was starring at us in such awe of me and my Mother's little reunion. Allison rolls her eyes at the thought.
As she walks into the room, Allison crosses her fingers hoping to God that no one says anything or looks at her strangely. From just her walking into the room, she notices that most interns are already dressed and ready to head to work while other are talking and laughing as they dress themselves. There are about twenty interns in here. Looking down at her handout, shivering at the thought of going back into that meeting room, she finds her name and beside it, the assigned locker number and combination to the lock on it. "Locker #16," it reads, with the combination: "730147". Allison passes by interns, looking around to find her locker, noticing some of their stares. She tries to ignore the people around her, but she cringes, not turning around, whenever a female voice behind her says,"I bet everyone here that she gets special treatment just for being a Shepherd." The girl says the name "Shepherd" like it's filled with disease and hopelessness. However, Allison continues to her locker and looks back and forth from the paper to the lock, memorizing the code. She can feel the stares beating down upon her. She slowly glances back behind her, noticing a girl starring. That must be the one that said that horrible thing about me, Allison thinks to herself as she turns back around and starts getting ready for her first day of her surgical career.
When Allison finishes getting ready for the work day, she walks past all of the lockers and beside them, she notices a mirror. She glances at herself in it seeing a young woman with long golden brown hair up in a ponytail and hazel gray eyes with of course her light blue scrubs. She smiles at herself in the mirror, trying to be in a better mood before exiting the locker room, being the last one to dress. Please please please do not let this day get any worse, Allison thinks to herself as she turns and starts toward the hallway.<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><
I bet that the hardest part of being an intern is finding where everything is in such a big hospital as this, Allison thinks to herself, frustrated, as she walks down the hall slowly while looking at the map attached to her handout while trying to find the cardio unit. I'm going to be late for rounds, she thinks to herself, I don't want to be fired on the first day for not knowing where anything is.
Turning down yet another hallway, Allison spots Dr. Jo Wilson along with about four other interns gathered around her. She is speaking to all of them. Crap, Allison thinks to herself as she hurries to join them all. She stands in the back, hoping that Dr. Wilson doesn't notice. "Did you get lost Dr. Shepherd?" Dr. Wilson asks in a monotone.
