Photoshoot at 4:30, Spanish lesson at 6, and a gala at 8. Always busy. Adrien recited his schedule for that day. He felt his phone buzz and sighed. He took the phone out of his back pocket and saw the message he had received from his father. Remember gala at 8 tonight. Nathalie left your suit on your bed. Be ready by 7:30 sharp. Adrien kept walking, looking at the ground beneath him. He put his phone away. While doing so, he accidentally ran into a small body, who had dropped all her stuff. She was about to fall when Adrien caught her by the waist.
"Whoa there, be careful. You alright?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Thank you," she said. The girl started to pick up the fabrics she had dropped along with threads. He did the same. She hasn't started ranting to me about how big of a fan she is or how she has a whole compilation of all my ads. Maybe she hasn't recognized me yet? Please don't let her recognize me! He thought. "I didn't mean to run into you I'm just in a rush. Sorry again," she said. Meanwhile, Adrien saw that she had also dropped some papers.
"It's no problem. I'm in no rush and you look like you need a bit of help. Do you mind if I help you and walk you to wherever you need to be?" He asked. The papers, fortunately, had been tied together so they didn't fly everywhere. Thank goodness they didn't have to chase some papers all across Paris.
"No, it's fine. I think I can manage by myself. Besides, I wouldn't want you to be late as well," she replied. Adrien grabbed the stack and saw that they had great sketches of dresses and skirts and jeans.
"Wow, these are amazing! Did you draw them yourself?"
"Yes, actually. I drew all of those," she said as she got up. "I love fashion and I'm actually in design school. I've always wanted to become a fashion designer." Adrien only smiled at her. He knew it was a pretty good career choice, based on seeing his father be successful with everything he did. He was sure she would be successful in that business as well just by looking at her sketches.
"Nice. And too bad. I'm coming." The young girl laughed at him, and Adrien smiled down at her. They walked together in silence towards the young dark haired girl's school.
As soon as they were in front of the school, she turned to him and took the papers back from Adrien's arms.
"Thank you. By the way, I never got your name," she said. Yes! She doesn't know me! She's not just faking it! Thank you so much! He thought.
"I'm Adrien. Adrien Agreste, and you?" Adrien asked.
"Well, nice to meet you Adrien Agreste," Adrien had to keep himself from full on laughing, so he settled in a chuckle instead. "I'm Marinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, but my friends call me 'Nette or Mari. Thank you again for walking me to school," she told him.
"It was no trouble. It was nice meeting you and who knows? Maybe we'll bump into each other more often." Adrien winked at Marinette and she laughed. Marinette walked up the stairs, and into the school.
Marinette turned back to him and waved.
"Bye," she told him. Adrien smiled, and waved back, watching her go inside and making sure she got inside safely.
"Did you see her, Plagg?"
"Yeah. What about her?" The floating cat asked. Adrien had a feeling that this girl was going to be on his mind all day.
"I think I've fallen in love with her," he said softly.
"Kid, how do you know that? You can't say that about a girl you just met because you bumped into her," said Plagg, as the bell rang.
"It's love at first sight, Plagg. It can happen," Adrien retorted.
"Ugh. You're making me lose my appetite," he flew back into Adrien's jacket.
