Uniqueness
So I actually kind of forgot that there is already an ultimate artist in danganronpa 3- never-the-less, Naomi is depicted more as a painter. And I think this is cool! I also like that she's rather simplistic at first glance, makes really well for characters in a lot of things, even protagonists tend to be simplistic (but with hidden depth, just like Naomi) Like the reason I made Uta for dolphinronpa to write from her POV rather than just writing from my main OC, Ri's POV is because Uta's simple enough to engage an audience into the bizarreness of a situation. Take for example Lyra, the protagonist of the His Dark materials series- she has some seriously wild traits but overall, she's not an overwhelming character which makes really good for a protagonist in a story that is completely bizarre. Also, a perhaps more widely known character is Harry Potter (Lyra and Harry have some very similar design elements) he as well appears as this just average character- but also like Lyra and Naomi has more hidden depth than what meets the eye- obviously Harry's hidden elements are shown way faster and made way more obvious than with Lyra. I could give so many examples of protagonists as well, (Like Makoto even) but I'd go on forever... anyway the reason I bring this up is because most character creators think they need THE most out there character for them fo be good, so this is what many do- especially for danganronpa, but for Naomi this simply doesn't happen. She's a unique character just for being "simple" and this is such a good design choice!! I give uniqueness a 9/10!
Design (Visual)
I already kind of touched on this, but the simplicity of Naomi's visual design is just beautiful! But I absolutely love the bow it gives us insight to what type of character she is "Nice, beautiful, likes making friends." I also love how the creator went out of the way to state she had a little chub- HELL YES FOR BODIES OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES! So for visual design I give a 10/10
Legitimacy (would it work?) In canon danganronpa, no, because there is already an ultimate artist and it would clash way too much. In any other setting, yes absolutely! Not just in danganronpa fanfics either but if you took her "Ultimate" away as I said before, she would make an excellent protagonist in her own individual story!! For legitimacy I give 7/10! (Simply because she was designed as a danganronpa character and wouldn't fit into canon danganronpa)
Personality The personality is balanced perfectly, with her being a nice character but "Quick to anger" admittedly, this is a trait a lot of character designers jump to for personality balancing but it works well with a "Usually nice character" either way, theres nothing about her personality that really sticks out so I give a 8/10 for personality. It works really well but nothing special.
Backstory The backstory works, but making extremely dark "family issue" back storys, especially for danganronpa characters is very common. However it really does work and explains why she grew a passion for art and why she's so smart. For backstory, I give a 7/10.
Other The fact she's a masochist. Wow. Just wow, haha! Not sure how I feel about that one but its certainly an interesting trait!! Also the fact that she has other hobbies besides art (gaming), gotta love that! I love the fact that the type of art she does is mentioned too!! For other info I give 9/10- would probs be a 10/10 if I had a whole story about this gal
Overall Did I mention that this character just works in every element that I've evaluated (pretty much) just an overall amazing character!! Honesty, Chiaki0_0 if you ever had an idea for a story I really recommend that you use Naomi as the protagonist! You'd find that it would work really well!! If I didn't write flowerfield from my own characters POV, I would totally write from Naomi's! She just WORKS! Overall, I give this character a 9/10! Well-done!!
