How bad can this be? |Chapter Seven|

It was a good thing that the walls at the compound were thick because then Nat and Wanda would be annoyed to how many times my alarm went off. I had my alarms starting from 5:45 till 7 with 10 minutes in between alarms.

I did have a lot of good habits, like working out, eating somewhat healthy... sometimes, reading and meditating but waking up on time wasn't one of them. I was such a heavy sleeper and not a morning person so waking up was always hard especially since I never wanted to leave bed.

Finally I decided to get up at 7:30 am. Being that I never dressed up to go on flights so pajamas. I had just  enough time to brush my teeth quickly and instead of really brushing my hair I ran my fingers through it and  threw on a white baggy hoodie to go with my black  with white stripes  Adidas joggers and some converse. 

Had I listened to Tony yesterday when he told me to pack? No so I had to quickly get my bag packed and headed out to the front of the compound to meet up with Nat and Tony. 

"Why are you dressed like that? Are we going in first class or something? Should I have dressed up more?" I said as they looked at Nat and Tony. Nat being in black pants, black boots, white blouse and blue blazer and Tony was just always over dressed. " First class? As in us being on the same plane as regular people? As if. You're rolling with Tony Stark now junior. We're taking my private jet so it doesn't matter that you chose to wear your pajamas, no one will see you." Tony said with a smile while Nat let out a chuckle. "Yeah well it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone and since it's a long flight I wanted to be comfy. Sue me." I finished with a pout looking like a whole ass toddler.

Tony's saw an opportunity to mess with the new recruit "Are you sure you wouldn't want to impress Aurora? I mean you haven't seen her in what, a week maybe?" I looked skeptical at Tony. I wasn't sure if Tony had found out that Aurora was my girlfriend, so I decided to play it safe. "I mean we talk kind of regularly and no, she knows that I like to travel comfortably." "Oh I just figured this will be the first time you'll be seeing your girlfriend as an Avenger and you'd maybe, oh I don't know, show her you're in the big leagues now." I stayed quiet. I didn't know if I'd get in trouble for not mentioning that I  was with Aurora. Sure when we were both S.H.I.E.L.D agents we got in some trouble. Mostly by Coulson who was just against us two being together but since we worked well together it was never a problem. "Listen Kid. I don't mind that you wanted to bring her along but just be honest next time. We're a team and we need to be able to trust that you are telling us 100% of the truth and not part of the truth."

"I'm sorry and your right. I saw how Steve started to react and I got scared if I said I was with her he wouldn't let her come. I didn't just pick her because she's my girlfriend though. She really is a great agent and will do whatever it take to get the job done. I don't want you to think that the only reason why I picked her was because I'm with her. Even if I wasn't in a relationship with her I still would've chose her."I answered back honestly hoping he saw my sincerity. I didn't know why but I didn't want to disappoint Tony so seeing that he seemed a little disappointed that I wasn't completely honest from the start made me feel uneasy.

Tony seeing the sincerity in my tone and face could see that I had meant what they said. "No worries kid. Just from here on out just let us know." Tony said while the car pulled up. "Anyway, let's get in and get going so we can meet your girlfriend." Tony said while pushing me into the car.

As the three of us are in the car, I realized that I don't even know much about the mission  so I speak up "Hey, what are we watching for anyway?" "Well we have reason the believe that there's an organization forming and are making weapons." Nat says. "Oh, so this is like a steak out mission? We watch the bad guys and report back? Also if it's just weapons, why can't the police or another branch handle this. Why are the avengers getting sent in?" This time Tony speaks up. "No, we think we've found the leader of all this. So he's attending a party tomorrow and the reason that we're getting sent in for this is because they're also-" Nat immediately cuts in "Most of the whole mission is under wraps and is need to know, and you so far don't need to know. Sorry rookie." She says with a smirk. I took my eyes at her. "So what will I do? What's the guy even look like. How will I know what to look for?"
