Bonding Durring Missions |Chapter Eight|

The alarm went off at 5:30. It was Auroras alarm for her to begin training but since she was with me on a mission she didn't need it and forgot to turn it off.  She quickly scrambled to turn it off before returning to cuddle into me, who was laying face up with my left arm arm behind my head and right arm holding Aurora. I was up before the alarm. I had stayed up thinking about how yesterday went and how my performance on this mission would affect me. It also didn't help that I slept for almost eight hours from the ride to the airport as well as the plane.  I thought about how easy it was to become open with Aurora by me and how Tony and Nat were actually fun to be around.

They thought about how Tony was painted as an egotistical, arrogant billionaire and Nat as a cold assassin but the whole time I've been with them they've been nothing but welcoming. Especially Tony. Even though I hadn't known Tony for that long, it felt like we had a deeper connection like a connection of a parent and child. Nat on the other hand seemed to be a good friend. A little too intrusive but her intentions were good. I couldn't help but feel like the team was bringing down my walls and that scared the crap out of me. I couldn't get side tracked. I knew i had my own mission and that was to get back to Dom and the rest of them.

Aurora could feel that I was awake and restless. Although I had tried my hardest to not move around so much, I still would shake my leg or shift slightly every couple of minutes. "What is keeping you up?"  She asked with sleep laced in her voice. "It's nothing, just not tired. You should go back to bed though. We have a long day." I said while I had pulled her close and kissed her temple.

Aurora ran her hand delicately up and down my jaw "Love, I can sense when you're tense. Talk to me." She said looking up at me from laying on my chest. I let out a sigh. "It's nothing really. Just get some rest." I said trying to sooth her back to sleep by rubbing my hand up and down her back.

Aurora completely sat up now facing me. "Okay we'll just sit here until you're ready." We sat in silence for several seconds, then she spoke again "and. You know how patient I can be and now that I'm used to your stubbornness, i can wait all day." It was quiet again for a couple more seconds. "You also know how persistent I can be so you might as well -" "Okay, okay. I get it. You can also get annoying." I spoke mumbling the last part hoping she wouldn't catch the last bit but she did. "I. Am. Not. You. Jerk." She said while smacking me.

Y/N sat up laughing and trying to cover themselves from the hits "I'm kidding I'm kidding." Aurora and I laughed together until our laughter died down. I looked down " I'm just in my head. I promise it isn't anything too serious."

Aurora gently grabbed my head so that she can look me in the eyes. "Love, Look at me." I met her gaze "I know you're stubborn and won't tell me and I don't want to pry it out of you. I want you to tell me because you want to tell me, but I want you to know that when you're ready or if whatever is bothering you is becoming too much, you can always come to me. I love you."  She says with a kiss to my forehead. I look her in her eyes and places a gentle kiss on her lips.

Aurora was the only person that had a calming effect on me.  Knowing that no matter what happened with the avengers,  I'd always have her on my side made me feel better about everything. We laidback and she started to trace my eyebrows knowing that always helped me fall asleep. As we were falling into slumber all I could think about was how much Aurora meant to me and how she was something I never wanted to lose. With those peaceful and calming thoughts I were able to sleep in several more hours.

When we woke up later, we had got dressed in formal party attire and got ready to attend the party that the mysterious target was attending.

"I don't like this mission. I feel so useless. We don't even know anything about it babe." I look at Aurora but she doesn't meet my gaze. Instead she looks down fiddling with her bracelets. "Aurora. Do you know something about this mission?"
