You're not ready.
You're not ready and no matter how much you boost yourself up or give yourself a pep talk you'll never be ready for the living hell called high school.
You'll try and it'll feel amazing the first year because well you've made it. Now you're that person that the little kid you see in the Walmart toy section want's to be. You're still childish and that's the part that's going to break you because you can never be ready for the amount of maturity that you need to have in high school.
The pressure is always on and you're not sure why but your parents just don't remember what it's like to be in your shoe's. They'll tell you that it's fine and you're not depressed because they've been were you are now. What they don't realize is that the high school they knew is different from the high school you now know.
Now is the time of covering your shoulder because the perv teacher can't stop looking but they blame it all on the boy's because boy's can't keep it in their pant's. You can't take care of yourself and dress with style because now you're trying to hard and you can't just relax because now you look ugly.
Then there's the band geek's and the smart kid's and the loud Cheeto girl's who fight every week. Then there's the boy's who fight over girls who shouldn't be fought over and the teacher's who teach for the money.
There's the drug's and drinking and stealing, and sex, and all thing's 'cool' teens do.
There's the guy who got punched because he was gay in the boy's locker room and looked up at the wrong time. There's the girl who lost everything because of a picture that one stupid night full of bad decision's.
There's the small happy moment's we are all wishing for but are scared to get because of trauma and trust issues.
We were never ready.
