Chapter 84

* * *

The afternoon sky was the clearest spring day ever. Under the blue sky, the king's palace showed off its unwavering white beauty today as if it had turned a large lake upside down.

"Sire."

As soon as he walked out the door connected to Berzet's conference room, he heard a voice calling for him. His deep blue eyes moved downward along to the voice. He then saw Schleiman crouching against the white wall. When their eyes met, he waved his hand and smiled.

Obviously, after the meeting, He saw him mixed up among the others and went out first, but he didn't know what he was doing here.

"Are you still here?"

"I almost got caught by the elders, so I ran away and came back. I've been waiting for you to come out, but you're late today."

As per usual, Berzet's regular meeting ended quickly today.

Since Axion hated wasting his time on unnecessary things, the heads of Berzet's people and affiliated families have never had a long battle over any agenda since he became head. It was the same today. Those who attended regular meetings had already left the king's palace.

Axion would have been the first to leave his seat but today, he was the last person to leave in the conference room.

"Sire, what are you going to do about this East Side Mammar raid?

When asked by Schleiman, who raised his body, Axion realized why he had been waiting for him so far.

"You take the lead."

"Should I?"

However, Schleiman, who was excited and thought he would nod his head right away, drew words uncharacteristically.

"As you've heard, didn't you say there was something strange about the marmies that were seen in this attack? They don't even know what kind of species it is yet. That's why it might be more difficult to deal with than ever before..."

A smile flowed from Axion's mouth. It's not hard to understand what Schleiman really wants. Schleiman also puts a smile on his lips as he looks at Axion.
(Pr: Guess we have a new ship sailing~ hmmmmm)

Although he looked innocent everywhere, Axion was not fooled by it. Still, he didn't worry too much. If Berzete's old raccoons knew, they would've made another fuss. But Axion trusted Schleiman more than those raccoons. In addition, the news of the attack reminded him of the mutant that he saw in the Amelian family a while ago.

He walked forward and tapped his finger on the round forehead covered by Schleiman's black hair. At that moment, a cross-shaped light shone for an instant at the point of contact and disappeared.

"Don't go crazy."

"As always."

Smiling as he touched his forehead after fulfilling his wish.

"The schedule is after the celebration anyway, so don't make an accident because I let you off the hook in advance."

"Of course."

However, once Axion asked for a warning, Schleiman confidently guaranteed that there would be nothing to worry about.

"If you're done with your business, you can leave first."

"Uh, what about you?"

"I still have work to do."

Curiosity and suspicion was visible on Schleiman's round purple eyes. Axion, of course, turned away without dispelling his doubts.
