"Back up. Back the frack up." Nefia gasped as she pulled me to a stop.
"S.T.O.R.M. Labs??? as in the big building with a bunch of sciency people in it???" she questioned, eyes wide.
I gave her a blank stare and responded.
"yes....it has a bunch of 'sciency people' in it...hence the name 'Labs' "
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she let out a laugh. Her eyes then sparkled with curiosity, "Wait. how the hell did you get a job there?" she whispered.
"How the hell did you get into the modeling industry?" I retorted.
"Touché." she muttered
"Okay, so are we going to continue walking now?" I asked her.
"oh yeah, sorry about that... just a little freaked." She chuckled.
The two started walking along the pavement in the direction of the colossal-sized building that could be seen from a mile away. The walk was quiet for the most part, with occasional chatter about their day. Over the next 20 minutes or so, the two had grown more comfortable with each other. As strange as the pair were, they had found that they have many things in common. Sharing a laugh whilst sharing silly stories of moments that happened in their childhood. It was nice. Vataelia could only hope her friends in the lab wouldn't mind the fresh addition. Nefia was ecstatic. The overwhelming feeling of joy and excitement. She was happy that she had someone to talk to for once. Not someone who just talked to her for clout. The duo soon realized that they were arriving at their destination and vataelia pulled Nefia to walk with her at a slower pace than they had been before just so she could inform her about the events that will unfold as soon as they enter the building.

As we neared our destination, I slowed my pace, inevitably pulling Nefia to a slow pace as well. I took this as a chance to inform her about the security check and the loud and annoying rebuking that I will get the moment I enter the building. The security check wasn't anything to worry about. No, seriously. You could just waltz right in. The ground floor was open to the public, anyone who wished to visit. However, you do need a key card to use the lift.
"Hey..." I whispered
"Yeah?" she croaked
"Just a fair warning. I'm probably going to get yelled at the moment I step onto the first floor, so... Brace yourself..." I chuckled.
she gave me a confused look as if asking 'why?'
"I'm 30 minutes late." I deadpanned.
"oh... sorry... hehe." she apologized
"Hey, don't worry about it. Besides, I'm late all the time." I chuckled.
"Not much of an early bird, huh?" she added
"Nope," I answered before pushing the doors to the building open.
Immediately as we entered the building, then we were bombarded with the scent of something minty sweet. That's new... I thought to myself. People were walking around with their kids and camera in hand. Mostly tourists... A teacher was explaining the history of S.T.O.R.M. Labs to a group of kids around the age of 8-10. I wished my school had cool field trips like this. Softly to my left, I could hear Nefia let out a soft 'wow'. Still walking towards the lift, I reached into my bag to grab my key card. I waited for Nefia to enter the lift before following and tapping my card on the reader. I waited for the lift to close and take us up. I quickly placed my key card back into my bag and glanced at Nefia, who looked more nervous than I was. Rightfully so... I gave her an encouraging smile, to which she responded by giving me a tight-lipped smile. The doors slid open, revealing the grey walls of the laboratories. I gestured to Nefia to follow me, to which she did. Before we could even set foot into the Lounge-
