We are walking through a hall when I say, "Hey, thank you for saving us back there, Drac."

"Yeah, that guy's crazy! Trying to eat us. That's only happened to me one other time," Johnny said. "This weird dude at a Slipknot concert."

"There's something I need to show you two." We are walking again. Drac was a little bit ahead of us, and that's when Johnny asks, "Hey, Y/N?"

"Yes, Johnny?"

"What was that about with the rat?"

"Oh, that... um, it's basically how my life is. My parents got killed by monsters and humans."

"What!? But why?" he asked, shocked.

"Why? Because my dad was half vampire and my mom was human. So when the monsters and humans found out, they were, to say the least, not happy about that, especially when they found out they had me. So they came in the night and killed them. My parents hid me in the hidden cellar that we had, and when they couldn't find me, they left. That's how I ended up in your family. A few years later, I got adopted."

"I am so sorry that that happened to you, Y/N."

"It's fine, really. I forgave my kind and monster kind a long time ago now."

"But why would you forgive them when they left you parentless for years?

Well, I figured that at the time, they didn't understand that humans and monsters can live together in peace, so that's why I forgave them.

You're way too kind, Y/N.

Thanks, Johnny.

I gave him a side hug. What we didn't know was that Drac was listening in on the conversation. He felt bad that he invaded her privacy and was now second-guessing if humans are really that bad. We came to a stop, and Drac opened a door to a room. We all went inside, and Johnny said, "Wow. Hey, are we at a funeral right now? Oh, wait, no, it's your bed. So creepy and cool."

I was about to say something to Johnny when he gasped at something. I turned to look at what Johnny was gasping about, and it was a painting of a very beautiful lady.

Wow! I know her! Johnny said.

Yeah, now that you say it, you said back to Johnny.

We saw that picture at the ruins of Lubov. That's my and Y/N's favorite castle, Johnny said.

There's a whole legend around that lady, I said.

A legend? Drac questioned.

The Lady Lubov. Johnny grabbed Drac's candelabra and shone it more on the face of the lady. The story is that a lonely count met her by chance, and they say that no two souls were ever more meant for each other. Eventually, they settled down at Castle Lubov and had a child. But then, a horrible tragedy happened. A fire started mysteriously one night, and it killed both of them, Johnny told us.

When Johnny and I were at the castle, we could still feel their powerful love. They say it's as if a soul is still trapped in the ruins themselves, I said.

The legend is wrong. It was only the wife that died. Drac pulled a curtain, and it revealed that he was standing next to his wife, holding hands in the painting. And it was no mystery who killed her. She was killed by your kind! He turned to us, and his eyes glowed a bright, beautiful blue.

[flashback]
The mob was standing outside, screaming, "Vampire!" while Dracula and his wife were inside the burning house.
"Honey, go hide. I'll take care of this."
When Dracula left his wife's side to go talk to the mob, they screamed, "Vampire!" again.
That's when Dracula heard his wife screaming and went back inside to check up on her.
When he saw her falling to the ground, he screamed, "Martha!"
Dracula was standing outside, far away from the burning house, while little Mavis was crying.
