Jisung: “Why the hell do I need geography when Google Maps exists?”
Hyuck: “It’s school. Nothing makes sense here. Not the classes, not the food, not the fact that our villains wear pastel polos.”
Suddenly—
Mark: “Am I interrupting?”
The sunny voice popped out of nowhere, making both boys flinch like guilty cats.
Jisung (muttering): “Fucking hell…”
Mark (cheerful): “Language! The teachers here are weirdly strict about that.”
Hyuck: “Don’t see any teachers around…” he drawled, arms crossed and voice lazy with sass.
Mark raised a single brow. Regal. Controlled. Annoyingly hot.
Mark: “Actually, I am a teacher. Sort of. Understudy teacher. Temporary title. Mostly symbolic.”
Both boys blinked at him.
Hyuck (leaning in, curious): “How come?”
Mark: “I’m being crowned in thirteen days. So I’m stuck in fittings, etiquette training, and long talks with my dad about diplomacy and taxes.”
Hyuck: “A busy man with a golden calendar. So why are you here instead of wearing a cape and juggling scrolls?”
Mark (sheepish): “I wanted to check in. See how you guys are doing…” He rubbed the back of his neck. Sweet, nervous. A cinnamon roll trying to connect with a room full of chili peppers.
Jisung (quiet): “We’re good. Thanks for the clothes, by the way.”
Mark (grinning): “I tell my stylist to prep a hundred looks a day. But I made sure you four were top priority.”
Hyuck’s smirk deepened. Oh, he was gonna have fun with this.
Hyuck: “Would you mind adding Jaemin and Chenle to that list? They were begging for fashion tips yesterday, but honestly, we’re not exactly runway experts.”
Mark: “Aladdin’s kid and the Fairy Godmother’s son?”
Hyuck: “That’s them.”
Mark: “Got it. I’ll let my stylist know. Thanks for telling me. I think Jeno and Sungchan are in math, right?”
He smiled again—soft, princely, dangerously charming.
Hyuck (fake smile, equally dangerous): “Yup. Enjoy the chaos, your majesty.”
Mark laughed quietly and gave a little wave before stepping out of the room.
---
Jisung (whispering): “They never said anything about clothes…”
Hyuck (grinning): “Oh, I know.”
Jisung: “Then why lie to the prince?”
Hyuck: “One: Jaemin and Chenle are our friends now. Like I look after you three, I’m gonna look after them too.
Two: If Mark thinks we’re sweet little angels who just want everyone to feel included, he won’t suspect a thing.
And three: I couldn’t sleep last night, so I was flipping through the spell book and found a few tricks that could help us—stealth-mode style.”
Jisung (eyes lighting up): “Okay… What kind of spells?”
Hyuck: “So besides the duplication one, there are color spells—we can redecorate rooms, change clothes, blend in. There’s this clothes enchantment thing too—a protective field that keeps your outfit clean, repels danger, makes you smell like enchanted perfume. Practical and stylish.”
Jisung: “Like… if someone chucked a meatball at your face, the sauce would just bounce off?”
Hyuck: “Exactly. We start small. No blowing stuff up on day one. I just got this spellbook—I’m not trying to get expelled yet.”
Jisung (giggling): “Genius. But… are we sure Chenle even wants to talk to us? He was so quiet yesterday. Didn't even say bye when we left.”
Hyuck (frowning): “He’s probably just hurt. Jeno kissed Jaemin. Chenle saw it. That’d ruin anyone’s morning.”
Jisung: “Yeah… but he wouldn’t ghost us, right? After all the help?”
Hyuck (snapping fingers): “Wait. Chenle showed me his timetable… His first class is—”
His eyes widened.
Hyuck: “Geography.”
Jisung (panicked): “So… where is he?”
Hyuck didn’t answer with words. He stood abruptly and raised his hand.
Hyuck (to the teacher): “Miss? Jisung’s not feeling well. He said he wants to stay in class, but he can’t sit properly. Can I take him to the nurse?”
Every head turned. Jisung's eyes blew wide.
Teacher (concerned): “Oh, poor thing. Of course, dear. The nurse’s office is down the left hallway—second door.”
Hyuck gently took Jisung’s arm, guiding him like he was fragile porcelain. As soon as they were out of sight, Hyuck dropped the act and yanked him into a sprint.
Hyuck: “We’re not going to the nurse.”
Jisung: “I figured.”
Hyuck: “We’re going to find Chenle. And we’re starting with math class.”
