Chapter 7

[Keyu's POV]

I'm at Patrick's house we're in his room. He is sleeping while I'm sitting at the chair beside his bed, thinking of what could the General's do next to be careful.

I just talked to Colonel Wang earlier and he wants me to be the Captain since Captain Wang is gone.

"Keyu?" I heard Patrick said.

I shrug off my thoughts and turn my attention to him.

"Are you alright?" I ask.

I watch him as he sit up from the bed.

He nodded.

"I heard you talked to Colonel Wang earlier. What did he said?"

"He wants me to be the new captain. He said i'm the only one he can trust at this time."

"What did you said?"

"I told him i'll think about it first."

"Why?"

"Because i might not get to protect you whenever there's danger."

"It's for everyone in China, Keyu. And you don't have to protect me. I can protect myself." He said and hold my other hand.

"I don't know. I don't even have an experience in any of this."

"I will help you." He said and gave me a assuring look.

I gave him a small smile.

[The Next Day]

[3rd Person's POV]

Keyu agreed to be the new captain and their first training just ended. Patrick was about to go back to their room but Keyu hold his arm that made him stop.

"I got the pictures that we took yesterday." Keyu said.

"Really?" Patrick ask weakly.

Keyu nodded and show him the pictures.

Patrick smiled as he stare at it.

Patrick is still sad about Captain Wang. He's still in shock because of what happened yesterday.

His smile fades when he remember what happened yesterday.

"Are you still worried about Mr. Hu?" Keyu ask.

Well, Hu YeTao and Captain Wang's wife argued yesterday. Mrs. Wang was so mad at him. She blamed everything to Ye Tao when he's not at fault.

Patrick nodded.

"Don't worry about him. Mrs. Wang already calmed down and she's preparing for Captain's burial."

Patrick nodded.

Then, their attention went to Liu Zhang who is running towards them. When he stopped in front of them he catch his breathe before speaking.

"Patrick, General Finkler is looking for you." He said.

Patrick look at Keyu and they both have a confused and worried look.

"Why?" Keyu ask.

"I don't know. He said you have to be there now."

Patrick was about to go but Keyu grab his arm to stop him.

"Be careful."

"Hm."

Then, he let go of his arm and let Patrick leave.

"Go after him." Keyu told Liu Zhang.

Liu Zhang saluted at him before following Patrick.
