Natalies dad left when she was 4, and her mom died shortly after when she was 6, so Nat was living with her aunt and her aunts husband in the outer banks. Lana and Scooter Grubbs. Nat wasn't close to Scooter, she didn't trust him at all but kept that opinion to herself. Her aunt Lana however, was like a mother to her.
