They all got in the twinkie, with Pope driving as he was the only one who didn't drink and quickly arrived at John Bs house. Or the chateau as John B had told her they call it while on the way.
Pope, Kie and JJ stayed out on the porch drinking some more while Nat took John B to his room.
"Does that cut hurt?" she touched it and he finched "I'll take that as a yes, where do you keep all your bandaids and stuff?"
"Bathroom cupboard" he said as he lay down on his bed and sighed.
She grabbed some rubbing alcohol and a small cloth she found so she could clean the wound. Nat walked back into John Bs bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Sit up" he sat up like she told him to and she began pouring a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto the cloth and dabbed it on the wound, holding the top of his head so he wouldn't move it. John B winced at the pain.
"Sorry-" Nat whispered almost.
"And you're good to go" she said with a friendly smile on her face, packing up the supplies she had used.
The boy lay back down where he was originally lay "Thank you"
"Anytime, can i?" the girl gestured to the other side of the bed.
"Yeah, yeah go ahead" he nodded, staring up at the ceiling while Nat walked over and lay next to him on the bed.
Nat pulled out a joint and a lighter from one of her pockets. She lit it and inhaled it deeply. "For the pain" she passed it over to him.
"Where'd you get this from?" he questioned, readjusting his head to face her.
"Some kook i met at the boneyard" she explained. "those idiots will give you anything if the think you're hot" Both of them chuckled, before returning to face the ceiling.
The both of them sat in comfortable silence
for a bit before they both knocked out on John Bs bed.————————————————
"Wake up, lovebirds" a figure entered John Bs room and the both of them turned to see who it was.
Nat squinting as the sun shined through the windows and into her eyes, "Sheriff Peterkin?"
Peterkin shifted her eyes from Natalie to John B, giving him a serious look "Get decent, sweetie, we need to talk"
"I'm gonna go freshen up, be right back" the girl swiftly got up off the bed and made her way to the hammock out front.
She sat there for a little bit gathering all her thoughts before she realised she hadn't returned home last night, Lana was probably worried sick. Natalie immediately felt horrible, she told herself she would be there for her aunt and here she was on John bs hammock, extremely hungover.
When she noticed Peterkin get back into her car, she got up and went back inside. John B was sat on the pull out sofa with his head in his hands.
"What was that all about?"
"Nothing, she just told me if i st-" John B stopped himself, he knew she would question him about what he was doing on the marsh in the first place. Was he really going to tell her that the pogues and him found her uncles sunken boat, stole a motel key from it, broke into that motel room and then stole a gun and money from that room? No, he wasn't.
"She told me if I behave then she'll help me with DCS" he lied.
"Alright, well good luck with that but i gotta go" she said putting her shoes on. "See ya JB" she saluted and left the chateau.
Just as she was nearing her car the rest of the pogues showed up.
"Hey guys"
"Hey" the three said at the same time.
"You're not staying?" Kie asked.
"Lana needs me"
They all nodded, understanding how hurt Lana was.
Natalies head was pounding, she desperately needed some advil or something, which she knew they wouldn't have at home. She also knew there wouldn't be much food at home, so she made the decision to stop at a small corner store not too far from figure eight to grab some snacks.
As she neared the store, she fished five dollars from her pocket, which she soon realised was not enough for some advil.
Okay fine i'll just get the snacks then. She turned the corner to the isle where all the chips were and grabbed two bags, one for her and one for her aunt. Sarah Cameron, aka kook princess, also happened to be on that isle, the blonde gave her a quick glance and soon looked away.
Nat had never interacted with Sarah but from what she'd heard, she was a real bitch. Of course, she couldn't tell which were rumours and which were true, but based off of her reputation and asshole boyfriend, she didn't put it past her.
Nat turned around to go pay and was met with the one and only Sarah Cameron standing in front of her.
"Hey" the blonde said in a hushed tone.
"Hey" she responded hesitantly.
"Mrs. Grubbs' niece, right?"
"Yep"
"Im so sorry for your loss, my condolences" she gave Nat a sympathetic look.
She actually seems kinda nice.
"Thank you, i really appreciate it"
"Sarah Cameron, nice to meet you" she stuck her hand out in front of her for Nat to shake.
"Natalie Grubbs" She shook her hand hesitantly.
Sarah looked down at the $5 bill in the girls hand and Natalie could see a look of sympathy on her face.
"Do you wanna come over for breakfast, my house?" she blurted out.
"I'd love to, really, but i have to go check on Lana-"
"C'mon, I know how tough it is to lose a loved one, its the least i can do" Nat thought for a second and Sarah gave her a warm smile. She really needed to check on Lana but she wasn't going to reject breakfast from a super rich family, the last time she ate was yesterday morning.
"Sure, yeah" she finally replied, feeling a little bad.
"Great lets go"
Nat paid for her food, got in Sarahs car and they made their way across the bridge to figure eight.
