It was a calm, relaxing day at Hogwarts. The giant squid was relaxing at the surface of the water, the centaurs were hunting bear the edge of the forest. All of a sudden, there is a pop, followed by a loud, shrill scream.
Let's go back a few minutes.
It's breakfast time. In the Great Hall, there is a crowd of muggleborn and halfblood students surrounding one muggleborn at the Ravenclaw table. The students go over there with some strange paper, which some other students recognize as muggle money, and then leave with a slice or two of burnt bread covered in butter. One group of curious purebloods go over there, wondering what is going on.
The muggleborn at the center of the crowd sees them and waves them closer. The purbloids see a strange cube made of metal, with something that looks like a rubber snake coming off the end of it. The muggleborn grabs two slices of bread, puts them into some slots at the top of the cube, and pushes down a strange-looking switch. The bread goes down, and the inside of the cube starts to turn red from heat. All of a sudden, the bread pops up, startling the purebloods. The muggleborns and halfbloods, however, merely laugh at the reactions of the purebloods. The muggleborn in the center puts the now-burnt bread on a plate, covers it in butter, and gives it to one of the halfbloods in exchange for muggle money.
