Well hello there! Sup' friend? I have a very unhealthy obsession with Jerome and it's only growing, so damn it all, ima write this thing to get it off my mind. Okay so anyway, here's my fanfic....yup...annnnd that's about it, so yeah...Go ahead and read if ya wanna!
Y/n = your name ...but you probably already know that...
It started off as a great day. Sun in the sky, which was rare for Gotham, traffic was good, another rarity, and finally, no school, not as rare, but hey, it was the best part of it all. It was a perfect day for welcoming a new member of Gotham's delightful society. A day like this was so rare it seemed impossible, for this place anyway. It was as if the city was putting up a wonderful, flawless, opening act to fool you just enough so that you couldn't possibly be prepared for the horrid something that was waiting once the curtain rose to reveal the next scene.
But it wasn't as if you knew that. After all, today was your first day in Gotham! You thought it would be some big, bad, scary town based on it's reputation but if you were being honest, so far, it seemed like a nice place to start over. Although 'start over' was a strong phrase, you were only sixteen, but it still seemed like a fresh start to you.
You were coming here from a much smaller town that was definitely no Gotham. So now you were going to live near to your Aunt Lee. Sweet lady, and apparently she got a new boyfriend.
You were excited about the whole thing. New places, new people, new friends, maybe a few new enemies but who cares about that? It all felt so freeing, you couldn't see a downside. You were going to live on your own. That was new just like the rest of it.
You couldn't help the smile that tugged at your lips as you pulled up to the Gotham City Police Department. Your aunt worked with the police and her boyfriend was a detective, you didn't know which was better! You smiled and thanked the taxi driver, paying him before rushing into the building.
You dodged a few officers and looked around. It was big and busy. You looked around at all the officers at their desks, writing reports, reading files, bringing in handcuffed criminals. It was pretty fascinating just watching it all happen right in front of you.
Someone bumped into you during your 'sightseeing' suddenly and you yelped before tripping and almost falling before whoever it was caught your arm.
"Sorry about that. I didn't see you there." It was a tall, middle-aged man with light brown hair and a badge on his belt. He seemed pretty tired and annoyed with the world. That was fair.
"Oh it's okay, I wasn't paying attention." he nodded and turned, starting to walk away before you remembered why you were here in the first place, "Oh! Wait! I'm sorry, but do you know where I can find Dr. Leslie Tompkins? She's expecting me, I'm her niece."
He was surprised at first, but after a second or two he smiled, more genuinely this time, and shook his head, "I can't believe I forgot you were coming today." he murmured and turned to face you fully, reaching out a hand, "Sorry, I'm Jim. Lee's out getting coffee at the moment."
You took his hand but frowned at the name, you had heard it before...where... "Oh! You're Aunt Lee's boyfriend!" and he chuckled, "Yeah, and you're Y/n right? It's nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you."
You immediately shook your head, "Oh no, I've heard about you." and he chuckled nervously, "That's not so reassuring." and you hummed, "Well if she talked to you about me too then I guess we're both equally done for when it comes to reputations."
He smiled and a woman with two cups of coffee walked over to the two of you, nearly dropping both cups when she saw you. "Y/n!" and she shoved the cups into Jim's hands and embraced you in a bone-crushing hug, "G-good to see you too Aunt Lee." as you hugged her back.
