Hey look! I'm back! I wasn't gone long at all this time!! It's part of the apology, and this one is pretty long too! So...you can't stay mad at me...please? Well I can't think of much to say except this is a peace offering, please forgive my absence with this😭
Also, sorry about the picture, I mostly try to avoid putting pictures of him on here bc...idk why, but anyway I also didn't mean to make it with him not in Arkham since...that's where most of this chapter takes place and we're not at that point in the show yet, but anyway his expression here was too perfect to pass up...Then again, idk why I'm sorry, he looks fing gorgeous-
WARNINGS: Uhhh...angst. Lots of it. Sad stuff. Jerome is mean. Uhm...idk how to characterize certain people so I'm sorry if there's any ooc-ness, I really tried not to. I think that's it?? Oh, and a little language, but...she's earned it. Annddd I'm probably gonna end up coming back and fixing this stuff up-
"Y/n!" A voice shouted and you quickly turned, struggling as the police officer's bruising grip on your arm tightened.
"Bruce!" You were surprised to see him here. You hadn't seen him in a long time and, as it was, it wasn't exactly the best timing for a visit. You were about to get into the police van that would take you to...that place.
It wasn't exactly your best moment.
"What are you doing here?" You asked as he came into view on the other side of the fence.
"I can't believe this happened, Y/n...I'm so sorry. I have some sway with the way things go in Arkham, I'll try to help as much as I can." His brow was furrowed and you could see Alfred on his way over.
"She's got to go. You can visit her in Arkham." The officer tugged on your arm again and you shot him a glare before turning back to Bruce.
"I will." He stated firmly and panic flared inside you.
"Bruce...it's good to see you, but don't come to Arkham. Ever."
"I can take care of myself, Y/n. You don't need to worr–"
"I heard what happened between you the last time but it's a big mistake to underestimate him just because of that." You snapped out.
He was not someone to take lightly and he clearly wanted Bruce dead.
"He had just been brought back to life back then, now he's probably recovered considerably. Stay away from him, Bruce. Never come to Arkham. Don't involve yourself. I know you want to help but I'll deal with this, if you try anything he'll just–" You shuddered. "Promise you won't do anything." You pleaded.
The officer practically dragged you into the back of the van. "Promise me, Bruce! Promise that you won't!"
The door slammed shut and you couldn't tell if he had responded.
You looked down at your cuffed hands, internally begging that he wouldn't do anything. Jerome hated him enough already, although you...still didn't know the reason. Besides, you were in enough trouble with Jerome as it was.
In fact, you would be surprised if you survived the day.

On the way to meet your doom, the knot your stomach never unclenched. You were sure this is how criminals felt on the way up to the execution stand.
The dread never left you. Before, you had been sure you were resigned to whatever fate you received from his accursed hands.
But now...now there was no 'resignation', there was no calm, no peace...just fear.
