Idk if I told you guys this but I have been updating this story on AO3 if you like that better or somethin Idk, do whatever you want, just thought I'd tell you.
Also, I was thinking of doing a Joker x Reader and another Jerome x Reader, after I'm done with this one probably, but I just thought someone might be interested. Idk, i thought up some ideas that I thought would be pretty cool, but for the Joker one...ugh, it'd probably be a mess...Well...more of a mess than everything else that i do. Like this!
Okay, I'm done. I need sleep you psychopaths, and you probably do too so go sleep instead of reading this and you can come back whenever you wake up...or not, whichever suits you. I'm not your mother so don't ask me to tuck you in. But actually, if you did, I probably would.
I feel like...drunk on sleep deprivation. Do you guys know that feeling? Okay sorry, if you haven't left already, you can go read the chapter now.
WARNING: Well this chapter has some mentions of child abuse, a couple of heated arguments and it's pretty intense I guess, but there's also some comic relief courtesy of Jake(I'm pretty sure but I probably wrote it wrong, Idk, my fingers feel like noodles) Also I'm probably gonna come back and fix this chapter because, like the rest of it, it's shit so yeah.
"Theo Galavan?!" Jake slammed his cup down on the table after he had recovered from almost choking on the drink.
"Yes." You answered seriously. You had just told him everything you had told Jim as you sat in a McDonald's after driving for what felt like forever.
"Are you sure?" He pressed, eyebrows raising.
"Jake, you know I wouldn't say something like this unless I was." You countered.
He sighed, "Alright, I believe you, obviously. But Jim didn't?" You shook your head slowly as you looked down at the table. He gritted his teeth, "That asshole!"
"Jake," You raised your eyebrow as you smiled in amusement, "It's alright."
"No, it's not, Y/n! He should've believed you!" He snapped, leaning back slightly, his fingers drumming against the table as he turned his head to look out the window and an irritated scowl settled on his lips.
"I think so too. But I really don't have any evidence...Innocent until proven guilty, I guess." You sighed.
"Yeah, well, your word is all the evidence I need." He muttered, grabbing his cup angrily as he sipped it with an annoyed glare to the right.
You laughed, "First time I've ever seen someone pout while drinking a sprite."
He glared at you, gulping down some more before pulling back, "Hey, I have every right to pout. As far as I'm concerned, we should be ruling the world, but here we are, chasing after a murderer's childhood bullies."
You rolled your eyes, "They were hardly just 'bullies'. But we do agree on one thing." You stood up and he raised an amused eyebrow, "Oh yeah?"
"Yeah, I really should rule the world, I don't know about you though." You smirked before leaving to get a refill.
Once you got back into the car, you checked the map.
"So how much farther?" He asked, closing the car door behind him.
"Not far...mm...about five more hours." You smiled pleasantly.
"Oh yeah, that's not far at all." He remarked sarcastically and you punched his shoulder lightly, "It could be farther!"
