We walked back to the mansion hand in hand. Lunette didn't want people to freak out so she made sure her feet were on the ground instead of floating. We made our way through town. As usual, people were gawking, except it wasn't at me. They were staring at Lunette.
Her angelic face was lit up like a child on Christmas. She was in 'awe' of how much the town had changed from when she was still alive. Plus, her clothes weren't exactly normal nowadays. Couples walked by, sending jealous girls into 'bitch fits' as their boyfriends rubbernecked my new girlfriend and gave me envious glares. Lunette was the most beautiful girl. I've never seen anyone even compare.
Guessing by the stares neither has anyone else. I was enjoying how excited she was. I couldn't help but smile. I glanced at a familiar person standing across the street. It was Trent. He was flirting with some 'Paris Hilton wannabe'.
Just then he glanced over at me. He smirked at me until he noticed the beautiful girl holding my hand. His jaw dropped in shock. I could see he wasn't happy. I gave him a victory smile until I realized he was making his way over to us.
"Fuck" I muttered under my breath. I tried to look for an escape route, but it was too late he sprinted over and stopped in front of us. "Hey, Phoenix I was trying to get your attention. How've you been?" he said with a smile and fake niceness. Trying to pretend he was my friend or something.
I rolled my eyes. He looked over to Lunette. I could see he was eyeing her body up and down like she was a fresh piece of meat. She looked up at him with a shy smile. "And may I ask who this gorgeous creature is?" he said with a charming smile.
"My name is Trent, it's a pleasure to meet you, miss." He reached down and grabbed her hand and gave it a sweet kiss. 'Who does he think he is, Casanova?' I thought as I rolled my eyes. "I think I'm gonna be sick" I mumbled with a disgusted look. "This is my girlfriend Lunette," I said in an irritated tone.
"Now if you don't mind, we have places to be." I pushed past him and he grabbed her hand and pulled her from me. "If you ever get tired of this loser, I promise to show you a good time." he gave her a wink hinting at the meaning. Anger rushed through me.
"Let her go, Trent." Lunette's face turned beet red as she tried to pull her hand from his grasp. "I'm sorry, but I'm with Phoenix, now please let me go." I was about to punch him when he let her arm go. She quickly ran behind me.
"I'm having a party tonight. I want you to come," he said looking at Lunette behind me. Then he looked up at me and said with a sneer "I guess you can come too freak" he said in a dismissive tone as if annoyed. "Why would we want to come to your stupid party?" I barked back. "Simple, if you don't, I'll make your life a living hell.
You wouldn't want that would you because I have ways of always getting what I want" he stated looking back at Lunette.
His threat was clear. If we didn't show up, he would take me out of the picture so he could have Lunette. "Fine. When and where?" He smirked in victory. "My house at 8.
"Don't worry about bringing anything I got it all covered. Catch you later, Lunette." he smiled at her in malice and laughed as he walked away. I turned to look at Lunette. She had fear in her eyes. "I don't think it's a good idea to go, Phoenix." her voice was shaky.
I pulled her close and stroked her hair, trying to calm her nerves. "I know, but if we don't, who knows what he'll try. He wasn't lying when he said he always gets what he wants. I can tell you that much. I think he'll do anything to make certain that he gets it."
I lifted her chin up to look at me. "I promise I won't let him hurt you," I said trying to reassure her she was safe with me. She gave me a small smile and nodded that she trusts me. I gave her a sweet kiss on her forehead.
Then I leaned down to taste her lips with a tender kiss. I nipped at her bottom lip for permission to enter. She eagerly accepted and let my tongue explore her mouth. She soon allowed hers to battle with mine. Our tongues danced around as they battled for dominance.
She eventually seceded, declaring mine the winner. We both broke from the tender turned passionate kiss gasping for air. I smiled down at her. Then I grabbed her hand and we continued on our journey back to the mansion. I was afraid of the answer Madame Sterling would give to Lunette being able to stay. With the events that just took place, I was a little more confident she would allow it, seeing as Lunette was in danger.
