It was a really sunny day. The birds were singing, and I could see a group of children outside playing around.
It was a normal day. At my normal house. But the thing is, I don't even remember how I got this house. I don't remember how I got here. I don't remember the rest of my life.
Sometimes, I'd think I'm in a dream. A dream I can never wake up from. But I know damn well that everything surrounding me right now is real. It's definitely real. I ruffled up my ginger hair and changed into some neat clothes. Shirase told me he wanted to hang out with me. And if Shirase is there, Yuan's probably there too.
I then spotted a picture lying my desk. A photo of a brown-haired boy with bandages wrapped around his arms. This picture was in my house for as long as I could remember, but I just didn't remember who this person was.
"If you forgot, it probably wasn't important, right?" A female's voice called out.
"Yeah.....wait."
I looked behind me to see Yuan smiling. How did she get in my house so quickly? That's Yuan for you. Sneaky but...well, girly. I'd say she's cute but...
"Sorry about that, Chuuya. I tried to stop her but I was too slow." Shirase sighed.
"It's fine, so where the hell are we going again?" I asked as I put on my hat. "An amusement park!" They both yelled. Oh boy, this was going to be a long day. When we arrived, we all did sorts of games, rides, and other stuff. Yuan was having the lifetime. And Shirase? Not so much.
"I thought we'd at least go on only 3 rides....Yuan, I'm tired." The grey haired boy sighed.
"Come oooooon, we have one more ride to check out!" Yuan yelled as she dragged both of us to a ferris wheel. The ride slowly got us up, and we saw the night sky and the glimmering, bright stars. It's already night? What a long day.
"Why are you still holding on to that, Chuuya? It's not important to you, is it?" Shirase asked. I'm holding onto what? I then realized I was gripping "that" photo, hard. As if I didn't want to let it go. I wanted to let go, but my hand just wouldn't.
"I...I don't know. I kinda just wanna let go of it now and let it fly out in the wind. But I also kinda don't wa-"
Just as I was about to finish my sentence, Shirase grabbed the photo from my hand and threw it away.
"You don't need that anymore."
"Dude, what the hell?!" I yelled as I jumped out of the ride and tried to reach out to grab the photo. Why the hell did I just do that?! That photo isn't important to me at all! Why did I jump? I thought I was going to die, so I closed my eyes. But when I opened them back again, I wasn't...dead? I was on top of a high building. This was a completely different place. This wasn't the amusement park.
I stood up anxiously and looked around, still holding on to the photo. I saw a shadowy figure with bandages wrapped around it, on the edge of the building. As if it was about to jump off.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing? Get away from there!" I yelled as the figure turned around. It completely stood still. It didn't move. But it suddenly started moving closer to the edge again. Before it could jump off, I pulled it away from the edge.
"I don't know what or who you are, but you really shouldn't do stuff like that." I groaned. Suddenly, the figure grabbed both of my hands and started asking strange questions. "What exactly are you?"
"Huh? I could ask you that! I'm...I'm a.." I wanted to say "human". But the damn word just wouldn't escape from my mouth. I'm pretty sure I was human. But at the same time, I wasn't sure of what I was. A familiar voice then ringed through my head. It said, "You're more human than I am, Chuuya." But who's voice was that again? What's with my head today? I keep forgetting. I keep asking questions. I keep having strange hallucinations.
